Microvilli structures on B lymphocytes: inducible functional domains?
Gediminas Greicius,Lisa S. Westerberg,Edward J. Davey,Eva Buentke,Annika Scheynius,Johan Thyberg,Eva Severinson +6 more
TL;DR: The results indicate that microvilli represent distinct inducible membrane domains that can regulate direct cell-cell interactions via grouping and three-dimensional presentation of cell-surface receptors.
Journal ArticleDOI
A novel adjuvant-allergen complex, CBP-rFel d 1, induces up-regulation of CD86 expression and enhances cytokine release by human dendritic cells in vitro
Theresa N. Andersson,Gunilla J. Ekman,Hans Grönlund,Eva Buentke,Tove L.J. Eriksson,Annika Scheynius,Marianne van Hage-Hamsten,Guro Gafvelin +7 more
TL;DR: Investigation of the in vitro effects of the recombinant major cat allergen Fel d 1 coupled to CBPs on human monocyte‐derived dendritic cells (MDDCs) obtained from healthy blood donors indicates that the use of CBPs as anAllergen carrier and adjuvant is a promising candidate for the improvement of allergenic‐specific immunotherapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Maternal allergen-specific IgG might protect the child against allergic sensitization
Christian Lupinek,Heidrun Hochwallner,Catharina Johansson,Axel Mie,Eva Rigler,Annika Scheynius,Johan Alm,Rudolf Valenta,Rudolf Valenta +8 more
TL;DR: This is the first detailed analysis of the molecular IgG recognition profile in mothers and their children in early life and high allergen-specific IgG reactivity in the mother’s plasma and breast milk and in cord blood seemed to protect against allergic sensitization at 5 years of age.
Journal ArticleDOI
Increased lymphocyte infiltration in duodenal mucosa from patients with psoriasis and serum IgA antibodies to gliadin
Gerd Michaëlsson,W. Kraaz,B. Gerdén,Eva Hagforsen,G. Hjelmqvist,Lars Lööf,O. Sjöberg,Annika Scheynius +7 more
TL;DR: To determine whether elevated AGA levels were associated with an increased number of intraepithelial lymphocytes, patients with IgA or IgG AGA values above 90% of the reference values underwent gastroduodenoscopy and duodenal biopsy in a prospective study.
Journal ArticleDOI
IL-18 skews the invariant NKT-cell population via autoreactive activation in atopic eczema.
Sara M. Lind,Carlotta Kuylenstierna,Markus Moll,Emilie Domange Jordö,Ola Winqvist,Lena Lundeberg,Maria A Karlsson,Maria Tengvall Linder,Catharina Johansson,Annika Scheynius,Johan K. Sandberg,Mikael C. I. Karlsson +11 more
TL;DR: It is proposed that IL‐18‐mediated activation and subsequent dysregulation of the CD1d‐restricted iNKT‐cells plays a role in the pathogenesis of human AE.
