Journal ArticleDOI

Cereal yield gaps across Europe

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used a country-by-country, bottom-up approach to establish statistical estimates of actual grain yield, and compare these to modelled estimates of potential yields for either irrigated or rainfed conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mediterranean cork oak wooded grasslands: synergies and trade-offs between plant diversity, pasture production and soil carbon

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors explored the synergies and trade-offs between biodiversity and selected ecosystem services in Mediterranean wooded grasslands, showing that the presence of trees constrains the overall forage productivity, although the greater forage availability in winter under the trees can contribute to improve the seasonal distribution of forage production.
Journal ArticleDOI

Modelling pasture production and soil temperature, water and carbon fluxes in Mediterranean grassland systems with the Pasture Simulation model

TL;DR: In this article, the PaSim model was assessed for its ability to simulate plant biomass production, soil temperature, water content, and total and heterotrophicsoil respiration in Mediterranean grasslands.
Journal ArticleDOI

Climate change impacts on the Alpine, Continental and Mediterranean grassland systems of Italy: A review

TL;DR: In this article, a review of the existing literature in the domain, highlighting different or common trends among different Italian biogeographical regions, provides information on the main climatic impacts analysed and drivers involved in the studied evolutions, and point out the knowledge gaps currently pending in order to hypothesize the future scenarios of research in this sector.
Journal ArticleDOI

Untargeted lipidomics of ovine milk to analyse the influence of different diet regimens.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of two diet systems on the composition of ovine milk were investigated using a UHPLC-QTOF-MS analytical platform and data submitted to multivariate statistical analysis.
