Journal ArticleDOI

Multicolor Emission of Small Molecule-Based Amorphous Thin Films and Nanoparticles with a Single Excitation Wavelength

TL;DR: In this paper, small molecule-based amorphous materials involving unsymmetrical triarylamines exhibit multicolor emission as transparent thin films and nanoparticles under single UV wavelength excitation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Giant Amplification of Photoswitching by a Few Photons in Fluorescent Photochromic Organic Nanoparticles

TL;DR: Fluorescent photochromic organic nanoparticles (NPs) are prepared, showing bright red emission, complete ON-OFF contrast with full reversibility, and excellent fatigue resistance, and upon successive UV and visible light irradiation, the NPs exhibit a complete fluorescence quenching and recovery at very lowphotochromic conversion levels.
Journal ArticleDOI

Two-photon fluorescent holographic rewritable micropatterning.

TL;DR: Monomeric amorphous systems involving an upper azo-based layer and a lower fluorophore layer have been carefully designed to enable holographic formation of micrometric emissive photopatterns through reversible photoinduced mass migration of azoderivatives.
Journal ArticleDOI

Revealing the Origins of Mechanically Induced Fluorescence Changes in Organic Molecular Crystals

TL;DR: The varied mechanofluorochromic behavior of a series of difluoroboron diketonates is shown to be driven by the formation of low-energy exciton traps in the amorphous phase, with a limited number of traps giving rise to the full change in fluorescence color.
