Association of Cardiovascular Health Level in Older Age With Cognitive Decline and Incident Dementia
Cécilia Samieri,Marie-Cécile Perier,Bamba Gaye,Cécile Proust-Lima,Catherine Helmer,Catherine Helmer,Jean-François Dartigues,Claudine Berr,Christophe Tzourio,Jean-Philippe Empana +9 more
TL;DR: Increased numbers of optimal cardiovascular health metrics and a higher cardiovascular health score were associated with a lower risk of dementia and lower rates of cognitive decline in older persons, and these findings may support the promotion of cardiovascular health to prevent risk factors associated with cognitive decline and dementia.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ethnic disparities in hospitalisation for COVID-19 in England: The role of socioeconomic factors, mental health, and inflammatory and pro-inflammatory factors in a community-based cohort study.
TL;DR: There were clear ethnic differences in risk of COVID-19 hospitalisation and these do not appear to be fully explained by measured factors, which have implications for health policy, including the targeting of prevention advice and vaccination coverage.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ideal Cardiovascular Health, Mortality, and Vascular Events in Elderly Subjects: The Three-City Study
Bamba Gaye,Marianne Canonico,Marie-Cécile Perier,Cécilia Samieri,Claudine Berr,Jean-François Dartigues,Christophe Tzourio,Alexis Elbaz,Jean-Philippe Empana +8 more
TL;DR: Even in the elderly, higher CVH status is highly beneficial regarding mortality and vascular event risks, and the risk of mortality and of vascular events decreased across the categories of ideal metrics.
Journal ArticleDOI
Degree of anemia, indirect markers of hemolysis, and vascular complications of sickle cell disease in Africa
Marie Dubert,Jacques Elion,Jacques Elion,Aissata Tolo,Dapa A. Diallo,Saliou Diop,Ibrahima Diagne,Ibrahima Sanogo,Suzanne Belinga,Odette Guifo,Guillaume Wamba,Françoise Ngo Sack,Kouakou Boidy,Ismael Kamara,Youssouf Traore,Cheick Oumar Diakite,Valérie Gbonon,Blaise Felix Faye,Moussa Seck,Indou Deme Ly,David Chelo,Roland N'Guetta,Ibrahima Bara Diop,Bamba Gaye,Xavier Jouven,Xavier Jouven,Brigitte Ranque,Brigitte Ranque +27 more
TL;DR: Severe anemia at steady state in SCD patients living in West and Central Africa is associated with elevated TRV, microalbuminuria, and leg ulcers, but these vascular complications are not independently associated with indirect markers of increased hemolysis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Association of Changes in Cardiovascular Health Metrics and Risk of Subsequent Cardiovascular Disease and Mortality.
Bamba Gaye,Bamba Gaye,Gabriel S. Tajeu,Ramachandran S. Vasan,Camille Lassale,Norrina B. Allen,Archana Singh-Manoux,Xavier Jouven,Xavier Jouven +8 more
TL;DR: Improvement in CVH or stable ideal CVH, compared with those with poor CVH over time, is associated with a lower risk of incident cardiovascular disease and all‐cause mortality.
