Journal ArticleDOI
Trade-off between fracture resistance and translucency of zirconia and lithium-disilicate glass ceramics for monolithic restorations.
TL;DR: The mechanical properties and more important, the slow crack growth (SCG) resistance, which rules long-term durability, were thoroughly studied for three zirconia ceramics stabilized by 3, 4 and 5 mol% yttria in comparison to lithium-disilicate glass-ceramic.
Journal ArticleDOI
Durable bonding to mechanically and/or chemically pre-treated dental zirconia.
Masanao Inokoshi,Atsushi Kameyama,Atsushi Kameyama,Jan De Munck,Shunsuke Minakuchi,Bart Van Meerbeek +5 more
TL;DR: Combined mechanical and chemical pre-treatment can best be recommended to durably bond zirconia to tooth tissue.
Journal ArticleDOI
Influence of sintering conditions on low-temperature degradation of dental zirconia
Masanao Inokoshi,Fei Zhang,Jan De Munck,Shunsuke Minakuchi,Ignace Naert,Jozef Vleugels,Bart Van Meerbeek,Kim Vanmeensel +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of sintering conditions and concomitant microstructure of dental zirconia (ZrO 2 ) ceramics on their low-temperature degradation (LTD) behavior remains unclear.
Journal ArticleDOI
Aging resistance of surface-treated dental zirconia.
Masanao Inokoshi,Kim Vanmeensel,Fei Zhang,Jan De Munck,George Eliades,Shunsuke Minakuchi,Ignace Naert,Bart Van Meerbeek,Jozef Vleugels +8 more
TL;DR: Surface treatment improved the aging resistance of Y-TZP zirconia and showed a similar trend in LTD behavior, while the five yttria-stabilized TZP (Y-TzP: Aadva, In-CeramYZ, IPS e.max ZirCAD, LAVA Frame,LAVA Plus) zIRconia showed the highest monoclinic volume fraction.
Journal ArticleDOI
A 13-year clinical evaluation of two three-step etch-and-rinse adhesives in non-carious class-V lesions
Marleen Peumans,Jan De Munck,Kirsten Van Landuyt,André Poitevin,Paul Lambrechts,Bart Van Meerbeek +5 more
TL;DR: After 13 years of clinical functioning, the clinical effectiveness of the three adhesive/composite combinations remained highly acceptable.
