Deposits of clastic carbonate-dominated (calciclastic) sedimentary slope systems in the rock record have been identified mostly as linearly-consistent carbonate apron deposits, even though most ancient clastic carbonate slope deposits fit the submarine fan systems better. Calciclastic submarine fans are consequently rarely described and are poorly understood. Subsequently, very little is known especially in mud-dominated calciclastic submarine fan systems. Presented in this study are a sedimentological core and petrographic characterisation of samples from eleven boreholes from the Lower Carboniferous of Bowland Basin (Northwest England) that reveals a >250 m thick calciturbidite complex deposited in a calciclastic submarine fan setting. Seven facies are recognised from core and thin section characterisation and are grouped into three carbonate turbidite sequences. They include: 1) Calciturbidites, comprising mostly of highto low-density, wavy-laminated bioclast-rich facies; 2) low-density densite mudstones which are characterised by planar laminated and unlaminated muddominated facies; and 3) Calcidebrites which are muddy or hyper-concentrated debrisflow deposits occurring as poorly-sorted, chaotic, mud-supported floatstones. Much has been written about theory and practice in the law, and the tension between practitioners and theorists. Judges do not cite theoretical articles often; they rarely "apply" theories to particular cases. These arguments are not revisited. Instead the Essay explores the working and interaction of theory and practice, practitioners and theorists. The Essay starts with a story about solving a legal issue using our intellectual tools - theory, practice, and their progenies: experience and "gut." Next the Essay elaborates on the nature of theory, practice, experience and "gut." The third part of the Essay discusses theories that are helpful to practitioners and those that are less helpful. The Essay concludes that practitioners theorize, and theorists practice. They use these intellectual tools differently because the goals and orientations of theorists and practitioners, and the constraints under which they act, differ. Theory, practice, experience and "gut" help us think, remember, decide and create. They complement each other like the two sides of the same coin: distinct but inseparable.

This study evaluates solid-phase micro-extraction (SPME) coupled with gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) to determine trace levels of bisphenol A in water and leached from plastic containers. In our study, we used very thin composite membranes prepared in the laboratory. The extraction using headspace post-derivatization with bis (trimethylsilyl) triﬂuoroacetamide (BSTFA), containing 1 % trimethylchlorosilane (TMCS) vapor, following SPME was compared with extraction without derivatization. The SPME experimental procedures to extract bis-phenol A in water were optimized with a relatively of the composite a based of the hydroxyapatite, an extraction time of 50 min, and desorption at 300 C for 2 min. Headspace derivatization following SPME was performed using 7 mL of BSTFA with 1 % TMCS at 65 C for 30 s. The precision was 5.2 % without derivatization and 9.0 % headspace derivatization. The detection limit was determined to be at the nanogram per liter level. When SPME wasused following headspace derivatization, the detection limit was one order of magnitude better than that achieved without derivatization. The results of this study reveal the adequacy of the SPME–GC–MS method for analyzing bisphenol A leached from plastic containers. The concentrations of bisphenol A leached from plastic containers into water ranged from 0.7 to 78.5 mg L -1 .Used with different percentages. Then inorganic- organic films were fabricated by evaporation of solvent. The composite films were characterized using emission scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. The results showed that these films are uniform and have good ductility. A strong interaction existed between HAp and cellulosic polymers, and the method allows the production of composite with very fine particles size of about 90 nm, that is appropriate for medical applications. As an application we study the absorption of Bisphenol A (noted PBA) by the composite HEC / HAp. The study of the extraction of bisphenol A (BPA) with HEC/ HAp composite has achieved a satisfactory extraction with a very good yield.

Synthesis of hydroxyethylcellulose and hydroxyapatite composite for analysis of bisphenol A

This study compared the electrochemical degradation of 2-nitrobenzaldehyde (2-NBA) on the bored-doped diamond (BDD) and SnO2 electrode. The effect of several parameters such as current density, electrolyte type, initial 2-NBA concentration and temperature, were investigation in terms of degradation. The 2-nitrobenzaldehyde demonstrated different behaviors upon operative parameters on these two electrodes. Compared to the degradation on BDD, it performed better on SnO2 in wide operating conditions, and was proved to be more cost-effective and more suitable for 2-NBA mineralization. The presence of NaCl promoted that the 2-NBA degradation on both electrodes, which decreased on SnO2 but significantly improved on the BDD electrode.

Electrooxidation of 2-nitrobenzaldehyde:A comparative study of SnO2 and boron doped diamond anodes

In this article, we are interesting to investigate the corrosion inhibition of mild steel in sulfuric acid by two surfactants phospohonates already synthesized namely sodium methyldodecylphosphonate (Pho1) and sodium methyl (11-methacryloyloxyundecyl) phosphonate (Pho2). The inhibition performances of Pho1 and Pho2 on mild steel corrosion in 0,5M H2SO4 solution were studied using the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), weight loss, and Tafel polarization technics. The experimental results suggest that those surfactants are effective corrosion inhibitors and the inhibition efficiency increases with the increase surfactants concentrations. Polarization measurements proved that the inhibitors behave as mixed-type. EIS diagram appears a large capacitive loop at high frequencies (HF) followed by a small inductive loop at low frequencies (LF) for Pho2, and the addition of this surfactant inhibitor increases the impedance of electrode. The adsorption of each surfactant on steel surface obeys Langmuir adsorption isotherm. The thermodynamic and kinetic parameters were calculated and discussed. Values of inhibition efficiency calculated from weight loss, Tafel polarization curves, and EIS are in good agreement.

Valuation of surfactant Phosphonates synthesized in the protection of metal surfaces against corrosion of mild steel in 0.5M H 2 SO 4 media

The dissipation of carbendazim and iprodion on peaches in level agricultural field in the area valley of Souss Massa was studied. These two pesticides were selected on the basis of previous excesses of 29, 20 and 14%, respectively, found in peaches samples cultivated in 2010 in eastern Morocco. The concentrations of these pesticides in the air were related to their physicochemical properties and respective application rates. Peaches samples were collected during 10 week period in which two successive applications of these pesticides were performed. Gas chromatography with electron capture detection (GC-ECD), liquid-liquid extraction (LLE), solid phase extraction (SPE) and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) were used to study the disappearance of these compounds in peaches. Residue levels in the plantation ranged between 0.28 and 0.10 mg/kg for carbendazim and between 0.52 and 0.06 mg/kg for iprodion. The residual concentrations after the preharvest intervals (PHI) were below the legal limits.
