Journal ArticleDOI

Macrophage nitric oxide synthase subunits. Purification, characterization, and role of prosthetic groups and substrate in regulating their association into a dimeric enzyme.

TL;DR: The ability of heme, tetrahydrobiopterin, and L-arginine to promote subunit dimerization is unprecedented and suggests novel roles for these molecules in forming and stabilizing the active dimeric NOS.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mutation analysis of the RET receptor tyrosine kinase in Hirschsprung disease

TL;DR: The data suggest that the overall frequency of RET mutations in HSCR patients is low and therefore, other genetic and/or environmental determinants contribute to the majority of HscR susceptibility, and at present, there is no obvious relationship between RET genotype and H SCR phenotype.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Polycomb-group gene eed is required for normal morphogenetic movements during gastrulation in the mouse embryo

TL;DR: An induced mutation is characterized, called embryonic ectoderm development or eed, that disrupts A-P patterning of the mouse embryo during gastrulation and is the highly conserved homologue of the Drosophila gene extra sex combs, which is required for maintenance of long-term transcriptional repression of homeotic gene expression.
