4-D Echo-Particle Image Velocimetry in a Left Ventricular Phantom
Jason Voorneveld,Hicham Saaid,Christiaan Schinkel,Nikola Radeljic,Boris Lippe,Frank J. H. Gijsen,Antonius F.W. van der Steen,Nico de Jong,Tom Claessens,Hendrik J. Vos,Sasa Kenjeres,Johan G. Bosch +11 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that 4-D echo-PIV could be performed in just four heart cycles, which would require only a short breath-hold, providing promising results, however, methods for resolving high velocity gradients in regions of poor spatial resolution are required before clinical translation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fast Volumetric Imaging Using a Matrix Transesophageal Echocardiography Probe with Partitioned Transmit–Receive Array
Deep Bera,Franc van den Adel,Nikola Radeljic-Jakic,Boris Lippe,Mehdi Soozande,Michiel A. P. Pertijs,Martin D. Verweij,Pieter Kruizinga,Verya Daeichin,Hendrik J. Vos,Antonius F.W. van der Steen,Johan G. Bosch,Nico de Jong,Nico de Jong +13 more
TL;DR: 3-D multiline parallel beamforming scheme for real-time volumetric ultrasound imaging using a prototype matrix transesophageal echocardiography probe with diagonally diced elements and separated transmit and receive arrays achieves volume rates up to 59 Hz and produces good-quality images by angle-weighted combination of overlapping sub-volumes.
Journal ArticleDOI
An Element-Matched Electromechanical $\Delta\Sigma$ ADC for Ultrasound Imaging
Michele D'Urbino,Chao Chen,Zhao Chen,Zu-yao Chang,Jacco Ponte,Boris Lippe,Michiel A. P. Pertijs +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a power and area-efficient approach to digitizing the echo signals received by piezoelectric transducer elements, commonly used for ultrasound imaging, is presented.
