Pesticides in aquatic environments and their removal by adsorption methods.
Amin Mojiri,John L. Zhou,Brett Robinson,Akiyoshi Ohashi,Noriatsu Ozaki,Tomonori Kindaichi,Hossein Farraji,Mohammadtaghi Vakili +7 more
TL;DR: Pesticide adsorption onto low-cost materials can effectively remediate contaminated waters and nanoparticle adsorbent and carbon-based adsorbents exhibit high performance in removing pesticides from water bodies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lithium as an emerging environmental contaminant: Mobility in the soil-plant system.
TL;DR: It is found that Li sorption increased with increasing soil pH, and decreased proportionately with increasing Li concentrations, compared to other cations in soil, Li is mobile and may leach into receiving waters, be taken up by plants, or have other biological impacts.
Journal ArticleDOI
From mine to mind and mobiles – Lithium contamination and its risk management
Nanthi Bolan,Son A. Hoang,Mohsin Tanveer,Lei Wang,Shiv Bolan,Prasanthi Sooriyakumar,Brett Robinson,Hasintha Wijesekara,Madhuni Wijesooriya,S. Keerthanan,Meththika Vithanage,Bernd Markert,Stefan Fränzle,Simone Wünschmann,Binoy Sarkar,Ajayan Vinu,M. B. Kirkham,Kadambot H. M. Siddique,Jörg Rinklebe,Jörg Rinklebe +19 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a review integrates fundamental aspects of Li distribution and behaviour in terrestrial and aquatic environments in an effort to efficiently remediate Li-contaminated ecosystems, including mobile phones and mood-stabilizing drugs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Age- and climate- related water use patterns of apple trees on China’s Loess Plateau
Shaofei Wang,Juan An,Xining Zhao,Xining Zhao,Xiaodong Gao,Xiaodong Gao,Pute Wu,Pute Wu,Gaopeng Huo,Brett Robinson +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the primary water sources of apple trees of three ages (10, 15 and 22 years) in semiarid and semihumid climatic regions of the Plateau using both natural stable isotopic signatures (δ2H values) and injections of 2H2O into deep soil layers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Arsenic redox transformations and cycling in the rhizosphere of Pteris vittata and Pteris quadriaurita.
Stefan Wagner,Christoph Hoefer,Christoph Hoefer,Markus Puschenreiter,Walter W. Wenzel,Eva Oburger,Stephan Hann,Brett Robinson,Ruben Kretzschmar,Jakob Santner +9 more
TL;DR: This study demonstrates that two closely-related As-accumulating ferns have distinct mechanisms for As uptake modulating As cycling in As-rich environments.
