Journal ArticleDOI
Numerical and experimental investigation of the strength of corrugated board packages
TL;DR: In this article, the buckling behavior of corrugated paper packages was studied by means of an experimental and theoretical analysis, and a local geometry FEM model, able to reproduce with a very good accuracy buckling loads obtained experimentally in the standard edge compression test, was developed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fatigue cracks nucleation on steel, acoustic emission and fractal analysis
TL;DR: In this paper, a new acoustic emission (AE) diagnostic technique, for the study of fatigue cracks nucleation and propagation on steel, was investigated using the fractal analysis, and the box-counting method (BCM) in particular.
Journal ArticleDOI
Modeling 3D revolute joint with clearance and contact stiffness
TL;DR: In this article, a general computer-aided model of a 3D revolute joint with clearance suitable for implementation in multibody dynamic solvers is presented, which has been applied in dynamic simulations of a spatial slider-crank mechanism.
Journal ArticleDOI
Approximate solution for free vibrations of thin orthotropic rectangular plates
TL;DR: In this article, the problem of approximate evaluation of the frequencies of orthotropic plates is investigated, starting from a general approximate formula for the frequency, proposed by Hearmon, it is shown how to calculate the fundamental mode of an orthotropic rectangular plate with different restraint conditions using the proper coefficient values already available in the scientific literature.

TL;DR: In 2014, the activities carried out by the magnet system project team were focused on the toroidal field (TF) magnet system design and demonstrated major achievements in terms of concept proposals and of consolidated evaluations against design criteria.
