Trehalose Attenuates the Gait Ataxia and Gliosis of Spinocerebellar Ataxia Type 17 Mice
Zhi Zhong Chen,Chien Ming Wang,Guan Chiun Lee,Ho Chiang Hsu,Tzu Ling Wu,Chia Wei Lin,Chih Kang Ma,Guey Jen Lee-Chen,Hei Jen Huang,Hsiu Mei Hsieh-Li +9 more
TL;DR: This study evaluated the therapeutic potential of trehalose on SCA17 using cerebellar primary and organotypic culture systems and a mouse model and showed that TBP nuclear aggregation was significantly decreased in both the primary and slice cultures.
Journal ArticleDOI
The potential of lactulose and melibiose, two novel trehalase-indigestible and autophagy-inducing disaccharides, for polyQ-mediated neurodegenerative disease treatment
Guan Chiun Lee,Chih Hsin Lin,Yu Chen Tao,Jinn-Moon Yang,Kai Cheng Hsu,Yin Jung Huang,Shih Han Huang,Pin Jui Kung,Wan Ling Chen,Chien Ming Wang,Yih Ru Wu,Chiung Mei Chen,Jung Yaw Lin,Hsiu Mei Hsieh-Li,Guey Jen Lee-Chen +14 more
TL;DR: Using polyQ-mediated spinocerebellar ataxia type 17 cell and slice cultures, it is found the aggregation was significantly prohibited by trehalose, lactulose, and melibiose, which may through up-regulating of autophagy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Indigodole E from Strobilanthes cusia exhibits anti-IL-17A effect
TL;DR: Indazole analogue 1 could be the anti-IL 17 A contributor of Qing Dai in this investigation and inhibit not onlyIL-17A protein production at concentrations from 1.25 to 2.5 μg/mL, but also IL-17 gene expression at concentrationsFrom 5.0 to 10.0 μg/ mL without cytotoxicity toward Th17 and Jukat cells, respectively.
