The relationship between plant species richness and soil aggregate stability can depend on disturbance
TL;DR: In this article, plant diversity has been shown to significantly increase topsoil aggregate stability of machine-graded ski slopes, and the authors hypothesize that this effect is specific for these disturbed sites and that at sites of low and no disturbance the effect decreases.

TL;DR: It is suggested that enhanced overall productivity and shifts in biomass allocation will occur at the tree line, particularly with global warming, however, individual species and functional groups will respond differently to these environmental changes, with consequences for ecosystem structure and functioning.
