Journal ArticleDOI
Acetylated cashew gum-based nanoparticles for the incorporation of alkaloid epiisopiloturine.
Jessica do Amaral Rodrigues,Alyne Rodrigues de Araújo,Nádia Aline de Oliveira Pitombeira,Alexandra Plácido,Miguel Peixoto de Almeida,Leiz Maria Costa Véras,Cristina Delerue-Matos,Filipe C. D. A. Lima,Augusto Batagin Neto,Regina C.M. de Paula,Judith P.A. Feitosa,Peter Eaton,José Roberto S. A. Leite,Durcilene Alves da Silva +13 more
TL;DR: Epiisopiloturine was encapsulated in acetylated cashew gum nanoparticles in order to increase solubility and allow slow release, whereas the morphology results were supported by computer simulations, and showed drug incorporation at high levels, up to 55% efficiency.
Journal ArticleDOI
Iodine Status and Iodised Salt Consumption in Portuguese School-Aged Children: The Iogeneration Study.
João Costa Leite,Elisa Keating,Diogo Pestana,Diogo Pestana,Virgínia Cruz Fernandes,Virgínia Cruz Fernandes,Maria Luz Maia,Sónia Norberto,Edgar Pinto,André Moreira-Rosário,Diana Sintra,Bárbara Moreira,Ana C. Costa,Sofia Marques da Silva,Vera Marisa Costa,Inês L. Carvalho,Rui Matias Lima,Catia Martins,Cristina Delerue-Matos,Agostinho Almeida,Luís Filipe Azevedo,Conceição Calhau,Conceição Calhau +31 more
TL;DR: Investigation of iodine deficiency control policies should include a monitoring program aligned with the commitment of reducing the population salt intake, and estimation of sodium intake from spot urine samples could be an opportunity for adequate monitoring of population means.
Journal ArticleDOI
QuEChERS and soil analysis. An Overview.
José Vera,Luísa Correia-Sá,Paula Paíga,Idalina Bragança,Virgínia Cruz Fernandes,Valentina F. Domingues,Cristina Delerue-Matos +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a review of Quick Easy Cheap Effective Rugged Safe (QuEChERS) methods used for the analysis of several pollutants in soil has been presented, and the recent advances made with this method are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fast screening procedure for antibiotics in wastewaters by direct HPLC-DAD analysis.
TL;DR: A simple methodology, using direct injection of the samples, by HPLC with diode array detection (DAD), for a multiresidue analysis of five antibiotics of different classes, to significantly reduce the number of samples to be analyzed by more complex methods.
