Journal ArticleDOI

Involvement of the cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor p16 (INK4a) in replicative senescence of normal human fibroblasts

TL;DR: It is proposed that senescence is a multistep process requiring the expression of both p21 and p16, which may explain why p16 but not p21 is commonly mutated in immortal cells and human tumors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Incidence and Early Course of Retlnonathy of Prematurity

Earl A. Palmer, +184 more
- 01 Nov 1991 -
TL;DR: The timing of retinal vascular events correlated more closely with postconceptional age than with postnatal age, implicating the level of maturity more than postnatal environmental influences in governing the timing of these vascular events.
Journal ArticleDOI

Supplemental therapeutic oxygen for prethreshold retinopathy of prematurity (STOP-ROP), a randomized, controlled trial. I: Primary outcomes

Dale L. Phelps
- 01 Jan 2000 -
TL;DR: It is suggested that infants without plus disease may be more responsive to supplemental therapy than infants with plus disease, and ROP progression rates were lower with supplemental oxygen than with conventional oxy- gen, but the differences were not statistically significant.
