Journal ArticleDOI

TGFβ drives immune evasion in genetically reconstituted colon cancer metastasis

TL;DR: Increased TGFβ in the tumour microenvironment represents a primary mechanism of immune evasion that promotes T-cell exclusion and blocks acquisition of the TH1-effector phenotype, and immunotherapies directed against TGF β signalling may have broad applications in treating patients with advanced colorectal cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI

Stromal gene expression defines poor-prognosis subtypes in colorectal cancer

TL;DR: It is shown that the use of TGF-β signaling inhibitors to block the cross-talk between cancer cells and the microenvironment halts disease progression, and all poor-prognosis CRC subtypes share a gene program induced by T GF-β in tumor stromal cells.
Journal ArticleDOI

TGF-beta in CAF-mediated tumor growth and metastasis

TL;DR: Current evidence on the emerging mechanisms involving TGF-beta in CAF-mediated cancer progression are examined, and their potential as therapeutic targets are discussed.
