Measurement of a Doubly Substituted Methane Isotopologue, 13CH3D, by Tunable Infrared Laser Direct Absorption Spectroscopy

TL;DR: A new method to precisely determine the relative abundance of (13)CH3D by using tunable infrared laser direct absorption spectroscopy (TILDAS) to distinguish geological and biological sources of methane in the atmosphere, hydrosphere, and lithosphere is developed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of 3-nitrooxypropanol on methane and hydrogen emissions, methane isotopic signature, and ruminal fermentation in dairy cows

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that a substantial inhibition of enteric methane emission by 3NOP in dairy cows was accompanied with increased hydrogen emission and decreased acetate-to-propionate ratio; however, neither an effect on rumen archaeal community composition nor a significant change in the isotope composition of methane was observed.
