Carbon-Nanotube-Reinforced Polymer-Derived Ceramic Composites

TL;DR: In this paper, carbon nanotube reinforced ceramic composites were synthesized by using recently developed polymer-derived ceramics as matrices, and significant increases in mechanical and thermal properties were observed by adding only 6vol% nanotubes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Silicoaluminum carbonitride with anomalously high resistance to oxidation and hot corrosion

TL;DR: In this article, the authors reported that amorphous silicoaluminum carbonitride (SiAlCN) ceramics possess anomalously high resistance to oxidation and hot-corrosion.
Journal ArticleDOI

Oxidation Behavior of a Fully Dense Polymer‐Derived Amorphous Silicon Carbonitride Ceramic

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the oxidation behavior of polymorphous silicon carbonitride (SiCN) ceramic at temperature range of 900°-1200°C using fully dense samples, which were obtained using a novel pressure-assisted pyrolysis technique.
Journal ArticleDOI

Compact passive Q-switching of a diode-pumped Tm,Y:CaF 2 laser near 2 μm

TL;DR: In this paper, a fiber-coupled 792-nm laser diode as the pump source and a Tm3+,Y3+ co-doped CaF2 crystal was realized near a wavelength of 2.5μm with a compact linear cavity by using a fiber coupled792nm LiDAR and using broadband graphene oxide as the saturable absorber.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of Thermal Initiator Concentration on the Electrical Behavior of Polymer-Derived Amorphous Silicon Carbonitrides

TL;DR: In this paper, the electric conductivity of polymer-derived silicon carbonitrides made from a polysilazane modified with different amounts of thermal initiator is measured at room temperature.
