Journal ArticleDOI

Harmonic dynamics of a DNA hexamer in the absence and presence of the intercalator ethidium.

TL;DR: Normal mode frequencies for the DNA fragment itself are significantly lower than those reported earlier using different force fields, but an analysis of “effective” frequencies suggests that somewhat higher frequencies are more appropriate.
Journal ArticleDOI

Characterizing Watson-Crick versus Hoogsteen Base Pairing in a DNA-Protein Complex Using Nuclear Magnetic Resonance and Site-Specifically 13C- and 15N-Labeled DNA.

TL;DR: An NMR strategy for characterizing Hoogsteen base pairs in protein-DNA complexes is described, which relies on site-specifically incorporating 13C- and 15N-labeled nucleotides into DNA duplexes for unambiguous resonance assignment and to improve spectral resolution.
Book ChapterDOI

Chapter 4:Integral Equation Theory of Biomolecules and Electrolytes

TL;DR: An overview of the current status of three-dimensional ions models is given, describing some aspects of “pure” electrolytes and of ionophores, proteins and nucleic acids in the presence of water and salts.
