Frequency of false positive rapid HIV serologic tests in African men and women receiving prep for HIV prevention: implications for programmatic roll-out of biomedical interventions
Patrick Ndase,Connie Celum,Lara Kidoguchi,Allan Ronald,Kenneth H. Fife,Elizabeth A. Bukusi,Deborah Donnell,Deborah Donnell,Jared M. Baeten +8 more
TL;DR: When HIV prevalence or incidence is low due to effective HIV prevention interventions, rapid HIV tests result in a high number offalse relative to true positive results, although the absolute number of false results will be low.
Journal ArticleDOI
HIV Stigma and Viral Suppression Among People Living With HIV in the Context of Universal Test and Treat: Analysis of Data From the HPTN 071 (PopART) Trial in Zambia and South Africa.
James R Hargreaves,Triantafyllos Pliakas,Graeme Hoddinott,Tila Mainga,Constance Mubekapi-Musadaidzwa,Deborah Donnell,Estelle Piwowar-Manning,Yaw Agyei,Nomhle F Mandla,Rory Dunbar,David Macleod,Sian Floyd,Peter Bock,Sarah Fidler,Richard J. Hayes,Janet Seeley,Anne Stangl,Virginia Bond,Virginia Bond,Helen Ayles,Helen Ayles,Hptn (PopART) Study Team +21 more
TL;DR: This research presents a novel probabilistic approach that allows us to assess the importance of knowing the carrier and removal status of canine coronavirus as a source of infection in animals and its role in the immune system is investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Cost-Effectiveness of Financial Incentives for Viral Suppression: HPTN 065 Study.
Blythe J.S. Adamson,Blythe J.S. Adamson,Wafaa El-Sadr,Dobromir T. Dimitrov,Theresa Gamble,Geetha Beauchamp,Josh J. Carlson,Louis P. Garrison,Deborah Donnell +8 more
TL;DR: Financial incentives, as used in HTPN 065, are estimated to improve quality and length of life, reduce HIV transmissions, and save money from a societal perspective.
Journal ArticleDOI
Association of HIV Diversity and Survival in HIV-Infected Ugandan Infants
Maria M. James,Lei Wang,Philippa Musoke,Philippa Musoke,Deborah Donnell,Jessica M. Fogel,William I. Towler,Leila Khaki,Clemensia Nakabiito,Clemensia Nakabiito,J. Brooks Jackson,Susan H. Eshleman +11 more
TL;DR: Higher HIV diversity in these regions at 6–8 weeks of age was associated with a significantly increased risk of death by 5 years of age and genetic diversity in HIV gag and pol measured using the HRM assay was typically low near birth and increased over time.
Journal ArticleDOI
Improvements in the HIV care continuum needed to meaningfully reduce HIV incidence among men who have sex with men in Baltimore, US: a modelling study for HPTN 078.
Kate M. Mitchell,Brooke E. Hoots,Dobromir T. Dimitrov,Danielle German,Colin Flynn,Jason E. Farley,Marcy Gelman,James P. Hughes,James P. Hughes,Deborah Donnell,Adeola Adeyeye,Robert H. Remien,Chris Beyrer,Gabriela Paz-Bailey,Marie-Claude Boily +14 more
TL;DR: The HIV Prevention Trials Network 078 trial seeks to increase the levels of viral suppression among US MSM by increasing the rates of diagnosis and linkage to care and treatment.
