TL;DR: It is confirmed that yellow mealworms, the larvae of Tenebrio molitor Linnaeus, can survive by eating polystyrene (PS) foam and the hypothesis that this capacity is independent of the geographic origin of the mealworms is supported, and is likely ubiquitous to members of this species.

TL;DR: X-ray absorption spectroscopy determined the valence state and chemical speciation of U in sediment samples collected at a variety of depths through the contaminant plume at the Field Research Center at Oak Ridge, TN, before and after in situ biostimulation, as well as in duplicate bioreduced sediments after 363 days of resting conditions.
