Identification of traits to improve the nitrogen-use efficiency of wheat genotypes
Oorbessy Gaju,Vincent Allard,Vincent Allard,Pierre Martre,Pierre Martre,John W. Snape,Emmanuel Heumez,J. LeGouis,J. LeGouis,Delphine Moreau,Delphine Moreau,Matthieu Bogard,Matthieu Bogard,Simon Griffiths,Simon Orford,Stella Hubbart,M.J. Foulkes +16 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that delaying the onset of post-anthesis senescence may be an important trait for increasing grain yield of wheat grown under low N supply.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nitrogen partitioning and remobilization in relation to leaf senescence, grain yield and grain nitrogen concentration in wheat cultivars ☆
Oorbessy Gaju,Vincent Allard,Vincent Allard,Pierre Martre,Pierre Martre,Jacques Le Gouis,Jacques Le Gouis,Delphine Moreau,Delphine Moreau,Matthieu Bogard,Matthieu Bogard,Stella Hubbart,M. John Foulkes +12 more
TL;DR: The determinants of genetic variation in N accumulation, N partitioning and N remobilization to the grain post-flowering and associations with flag-leaf senescence, grain yield and grain N% in 16 wheat cultivars grown under high N (HN) and low N (LN) conditions in the UK and France are investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
A plant perspective on nitrogen cycling in the rhizosphere
Delphine Moreau,Richard D. Bardgett,Roger D. Finlay,David L. Jones,David L. Jones,Laurent Philippot +5 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Plant traits related to nitrogen uptake influence plant-microbe competition.
Delphine Moreau,Barbara Pivato,David Bru,Hugues Busset,Florence Deau,Céline Faivre,Annick Matejicek,Florence Strbik,Laurent Philippot,Christophe Mougel +9 more
TL;DR: This study demonstrates that nitrate-reducing microorganisms may be adversely affected by plants with a high nitrogen uptake rate, and puts forward the role of traits related to nitrogen in plant-microbe interactions, whereas carbon is commonly considered as the main driver.
Journal ArticleDOI
Response and effect traits of arable weeds in agro‐ecosystems: a review of current knowledge
Sabrina Gaba,Rémi Perronne,Rémi Perronne,Guillaume Fried,Antoine Gardarin,Antoine Gardarin,François Bretagnolle,Luc Biju-Duval,Nathalie Colbach,Stéphane Cordeau,Mónica Fernández-Aparicio,Christian Gauvrit,Stéphanie Gibot-Leclerc,Jean-Philippe Guillemin,Delphine Moreau,Nathalie G. Munier-Jolain,Florence Strbik,Xavier Reboud +17 more
TL;DR: This review provides a holistic synthesis of the current knowledge on weed response and effect functional traits and addresses and discusses major research avenues that may significantly improve the use of traits and the knowledge of functional diversity in weed science for the future.
