On the Physical Origins of Charge Separation at Donor–Acceptor Interfaces in Organic Solar Cells: Energy Bending versus Energy Disorder
Leonardo Evaristo de Sousa,Veaceslav Coropceanu,Demetrio A. da Silva Filho,Demetrio A. da Silva Filho,Gjergji Sini +4 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Limit of Exciton Diffusion in Highly Ordered π-Conjugated Systems
Pedro Henrique de Oliveira Neto,Demetrio A. da Silva Filho,Wiliam Ferreira da Cunha,Paulo H. Acioli,Paulo H. Acioli,Geraldo Magela e Silva +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the limit of diffusion of excitons in π-conjugated systems using a model Hamiltonian that included electronic and strong electron-phonon coupling, and including quantum corrected thermal effects through Langevin dynamics.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: Authors from the University of Alicante acknowledge support from the Spanish Government (MINECO) and the European Community (FEDER) through grants MAT2008-06648-C02-01 and MAT2011-28167-C 02-01.
Journal ArticleDOI
Efficient Exciton Diffusion and Resonance-Energy Transfer in Multilayered Organic Epitaxial Nanofibers.
Luciana Tavares,Michele Cadelano,Francesco Quochi,Clemens Simbrunner,Clemens Simbrunner,Günther Schwabegger,Michele Saba,Andrea Mura,Giovanni Bongiovanni,Demetrio A. da Silva Filho,Wiliam Ferreira da Cunha,Horst-Günter Rubahn,Jakob Kjelstrup-Hansen +12 more
TL;DR: The small activation energy for exciton diffusion, the inferred high p6P-to-6T resonance-energy-transfer efficiency, and the observed weak PL temperature dependence of the 6T acceptor material together result in an exceptionally high optical emission performance of this all-organic material system, thus making it well suited, for example, for organic light-emitting devices.
Journal ArticleDOI
Modeling the Emission Spectra of Organic Molecules: A Competition between Franck-Condon and Nuclear Ensemble Methods.
Leonardo Evaristo de Sousa,Luiz Antonio Ribeiro Junior,Antonio Luciano de Almeida Fonseca,Demetrio A. da Silva Filho +3 more
TL;DR: The findings show that the emission spectra obtained using the NE approach are in better agreement with experiment than the ones produced by FC calculations considering both rigid and flexible molecules.
