Ultrafast Electronic Band Gap Control in an Excitonic Insulator
Selene Mor,Marc Herzog,Marc Herzog,Denis Golež,Philipp Werner,Martin Eckstein,Naoyuki Katayama,Minoru Nohara,H. Takagi,H. Takagi,Takashi Mizokawa,Claude Monney,Julia Stähler +12 more
TL;DR: The ability to manipulate the band gap of Ta_{2}NiSe_{5} with light on the femtosecond time scale is demonstrated, and it is shown that below the critical excitation density of F_{C}=0.2 mJ cm^{-2, the band gap narrows transiently, while it is enhanced above F{C}.
Journal ArticleDOI
Snapshots of the retarded interaction of charge carriers with ultrafast fluctuations in cuprates
S. Dal Conte,Lev Vidmar,Lev Vidmar,Denis Golež,Marcin Mierzejewski,Giancarlo Soavi,Simone Peli,Simone Peli,Francesco Banfi,Gabriele Ferrini,Riccardo Comin,B. Ludbrook,L. Chauviere,L. Chauviere,Nikolai D. Zhigadlo,Hiroshi Eisaki,Martin Greven,Stefano Lupi,Andrea Damascelli,Daniele Brida,Daniele Brida,Massimo Capone,Janez Bonča,Janez Bonča,Giulio Cerullo,Claudio Giannetti +25 more
TL;DR: By pushing both time and frequency resolution in optical spectroscopy, it is now possible to resolve antiferromagnetic fluctuations in a copper oxide superconductor, which are believed to mediate the pairing of charge carriers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ultrafast Doublon Dynamics in Photoexcited 1 T - TaS 2
Manuel Ligges,I. Avigo,Denis Golež,Hugo U. R. Strand,Y. Beyazit,K. Hanff,Florian Diekmann,L. Stojchevska,M. Kalläne,Ping Zhou,Kai Rossnagel,Martin Eckstein,Ph. Werner,Uwe Bovensiepen +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors identify a spectroscopic signature of doubly occupied sites (doublons) that reflects fundamental Mott physics and show that Doublon-hole recombination is estimated to occur on timescales of electronic hopping on the quasi-two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenide.
Journal ArticleDOI
Photoinduced Enhancement of Excitonic Order.
TL;DR: It is shown that, even for small phonon coupling, a photoinduced enhancement of the exciton condensation and the gap can be realized and argued that the origin of the enhancement is a cooperative effect of the massive phase mode and the Hartree shift induced by the photoexcitation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Relaxation dynamics of the Holstein polaron.
TL;DR: This work compute the relaxation time of the Holstein polaron in one dimension after it was driven far from the equilibrium by a strong oscillatory pulse and shows good agreement with the inverse relaxation time obtained from nonequilibrium simulations.
