Journal ArticleDOI
A microRNA-Hippo pathway that promotes cardiomyocyte proliferation and cardiac regeneration in mice
Ying Tian,Ying Tian,Ying Liu,Tao Wang,Ning Zhou,Jun Kong,L.-Q. Chen,Melinda Snitow,Michael Morley,Deqiang Li,Nataliya B. Petrenko,Nataliya B. Petrenko,Su Zhou,Minmin Lu,Erhe Gao,Walter J. Koch,Kathleen M. Stewart,Edward E. Morrisey +17 more
TL;DR: It is shown that the microRNA cluster miR302-367 is important for cardiomyocyte proliferation during development and is sufficient to induce cardiomeocyte proliferation in the adult and promote cardiac regeneration, and transient treatment with miR 302-367 mimics promoted cardiac regeneration in mice after myocardial infarction.
Journal ArticleDOI
Plasticity of Hopx + type I alveolar cells to regenerate type II cells in the lung
Rajan Jain,Christina E. Barkauskas,Norifumi Takeda,Emily Bowie,Haig Aghajanian,Qiaohong Wang,Arun Padmanabhan,Lauren J. Manderfield,Mudit Gupta,Deqiang Li,Li Li,Chinmay M. Trivedi,Brigid L.M. Hogan,Jonathan A. Epstein +13 more
TL;DR: It is shown that Hopx becomes restricted to Type I cells during development and, unexpectedly, lineage-labeled Hopx+ cells both proliferate and generate Type II cells during adult alveolar regrowth following partial pneumonectomy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Integration of Bmp and Wnt signaling by Hopx specifies commitment of cardiomyoblasts
Rajan Jain,Deqiang Li,Mudit Gupta,Lauren J. Manderfield,Jamie L. Ifkovits,Qiaohong Wang,Feiyan Liu,Ying Liu,Andrey Poleshko,Arun Padmanabhan,Jeffrey C. Raum,Li Li,Edward E. Morrisey,Min Min Lu,Kyoung-Jae Won,Jonathan A. Epstein +15 more
TL;DR: A specialized progenitor population that is committed exclusively to forming cardiomyocytes is identified and the mechanisms governing commitment to the myocyte lineage in vivo are identified, suggesting that Hopx promotes myogenesis by repressing Wnt signaling.
Journal ArticleDOI
Epicardial YAP/TAZ orchestrate an immunosuppressive response following myocardial infarction
Vimal Ramjee,Deqiang Li,Lauren J. Manderfield,Feiyan Liu,Kurt A. Engleka,Haig Aghajanian,Christopher B. Rodell,Wen Lu,Vivienne C. Ho,Tao Wang,Li Li,Anamika Singh,Dasan Mary Cibi,Jason A. Burdick,Manvendra K. Singh,Rajan Jain,Jonathan A. Epstein +16 more
TL;DR: Results suggest that epicardial Hippo signaling plays a key role in adaptive immune regulation during the post-MI recovery phase.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lgr5 Identifies Progenitor Cells Capable of Taste Bud Regeneration after Injury.
TL;DR: It is confirmed and extended by demonstrating that Lgr5 cells give rise to both anterior and posterior taste buds during development, and are capable of regenerating anterior taste buds after injury induced by glossopharyngeal nerve transection.
