High-efficiency broadband anomalous reflection by gradient meta-surfaces.
Shulin Sun,Kuang-Yu Yang,Chih Ming Wang,Ta Ko Juan,Wei Ting Chen,Chun Yen Liao,Qiong He,Shiyi Xiao,Wen Ting Kung,Guang-Yu Guo,Guang-Yu Guo,Lei Zhou,Din Ping Tsai,Din Ping Tsai +13 more
TL;DR: This work combines theory and experiment to demonstrate that a carefully designed gradient meta-surface supports high-efficiency anomalous reflections for near-infrared light following the generalized Snell's law, and the reflected wave becomes a bounded surface wave as the incident angle exceeds a critical value.
Journal ArticleDOI
A broadband achromatic metalens in the visible
Shuming Wang,Pin Chieh Wu,Vin Cent Su,Yi Chieh Lai,Mu Ku Chen,Hsin Yu Kuo,Bo Han Chen,Yu Han Chen,Tzu-Ting Huang,Jung Hsi Wang,Ray-Ming Lin,Chieh-Hsiung Kuan,Tao Li,Zhenlin Wang,Shining Zhu,Din Ping Tsai,Din Ping Tsai,Din Ping Tsai +17 more
TL;DR: Integrating the Pancharatnam–Berry phase with integrated resonant nanoantennas in a metalens design produces an achromatic device capable of full-colour imaging in the visible range in transmission mode.
Journal ArticleDOI
Broadband achromatic optical metasurface devices
Shuming Wang,Pin Chieh Wu,Pin Chieh Wu,Vin Cent Su,Yi Chieh Lai,Cheng Hung Chu,Jia Wern Chen,Shen Hung Lu,J. Chen,Beibei Xu,Chieh-Hsiung Kuan,Tao Li,Shining Zhu,Din Ping Tsai,Din Ping Tsai,Din Ping Tsai +15 more
TL;DR: A design principle is proposed to realize achromatic metasurface devices which successfully eliminate the chromatic aberration over a continuous wavelength region from 1200 to 1680 nm for circularly-polarized incidences in a reflection scheme.
Journal ArticleDOI
High-Efficiency Broadband Meta-Hologram with Polarization-Controlled Dual Images
Wei Ting Chen,Kuang-Yu Yang,Chih Ming Wang,Yao-Wei Huang,Greg Sun,I-Da Chiang,Chun Yen Liao,Wei-Lun Hsu,Hao Tsun Lin,Shulin Sun,Lei Zhou,Ai Qun Liu,Din Ping Tsai,Din Ping Tsai +13 more
TL;DR: The flexibility demonstrated here for the meta-hologram paves the road to a wide range of applications related to holographic images at arbitrary electromagnetic wave region.
Journal ArticleDOI
Toroidal Dipolar Response in a Metamaterial
TL;DR: The observation of a resonant electromagnetic response in an artificially engineered medium, or metamaterial, that cannot be attributed to magnetic or charge multipoles and can only be explained by the existence of a toroidal dipole is reported.
