Explants of Oncorhynchus mykiss intestine to detect bioactive molecules uptake and metabolic effects: Applications in aquaculture

TL;DR: The validity of ATR-FTIR as a rapid, non-invasive, high-resolution analytical method of analysis for biological samples is confirmed and may represent an alternative to reduce the number of animals employed in ex vivo trials.
Journal ArticleDOI

Inflammatory metabolites in exhaled breath condensate characterize the obese respiratory phenotype

TL;DR: It is concluded that the noninvasive EBC matrix is suitable to selectively investigate the obesity-related lung inflammation and identified airway metabolites linked to the inflammation processes demonstrate that obesity constitutes a specific inflammatory metabolic phenotype (metabotype).
Journal ArticleDOI

Monitoring liver alterations during hepatic tumorigenesis by NMR profiling and pattern recognition

TL;DR: The biochemical changes of human hepatic lesions through primary (HCC) and secondary (metastases from colorectal carcinoma) liver tumors, cirrhotic tissues, and non-cirrhotic histologically-confirmed normal liver tissues adjacent to metastases are followed, achieving a metabolic differentiation of the various pathological states based upon the variation of the intracellular lactate/glucose ratio.
Journal ArticleDOI

High resolution 13C NMR detection of short‐ and medium‐chain synthetic triacylglycerols used in butterfat adulteration

TL;DR: In this paper, a robust and efficient method based on high resolution 13C NMR spectroscopy was developed for detecting the adulteration of butterfat with synthetic low and medium-carbon number TAG mixtures.
Journal ArticleDOI

Endocannabinoids: endogenous cannabinoid receptor ligands with neuromodulatory action, by V. Di Marzo, D. Melck, T. Bisogno and L. De Petrocellis, Vol. 21, pp. 521–528.

TL;DR: In Fig. 2 and 3 the incorrect structure was given for 2-arachidonoylglycerol and arachidonic acid, respectively, and the correct structures are shown below.
