Journal ArticleDOI
Metal-oxygen decoordination stabilizes anion redox in Li-rich oxides.
Jihyun Hong,William E. Gent,William E. Gent,Penghao Xiao,Kipil Lim,Dong-Hwa Seo,Jinpeng Wu,Jinpeng Wu,Peter M. Csernica,Christopher J. Takacs,Dennis Nordlund,Cheng-Jun Sun,Kevin H. Stone,Donata Passarello,Wanli Yang,David Prendergast,Gerbrand Ceder,Gerbrand Ceder,Michael F. Toney,William C. Chueh,William C. Chueh +20 more
TL;DR: These insights establish a point defect explanation for why anion redox often occurs alongside local structural disordering and voltage hysteresis during cycling, and offer an explanation for the unique electrochemical properties of lithium-rich layered oxides.
Journal ArticleDOI
Structural Origins of Light-Induced Phase Segregation in Organic-Inorganic Halide Perovskite Photovoltaic Materials
Rachel E. Beal,Rachel E. Beal,Nanna Zhou Hagström,Nanna Zhou Hagström,Julien Barrier,Julien Barrier,Aryeh Gold-Parker,Aryeh Gold-Parker,Rohit Prasanna,Kevin A. Bush,Donata Passarello,Laura T. Schelhas,Karsten Brüning,Christopher J. Tassone,Hans-Georg Steinrück,Michael D. McGehee,Michael F. Toney,Ana Flávia Nogueira,Ana Flávia Nogueira +18 more
TL;DR: In this article, the structural origins of photoinduced phase segregation in mixed-halide perovskite materials were explored, and it was shown that phase is not the sole determinant of optical stability.
Journal ArticleDOI
Giant reversible, facet-dependent, structural changes in a correlated-electron insulator induced by ionic liquid gating
Jaewoo Jeong,Nagaphani Aetukuri,Donata Passarello,Donata Passarello,Steven D. Conradson,Mahesh G. Samant,Stuart S. P. Parkin,Stuart S. P. Parkin +7 more
TL;DR: It is shown that the whole film undergoes giant, structural changes on gating in which the lattice expands by up to ∼3% near room temperature, in contrast to the 10 times smaller contraction when the system is thermally metallized.
Journal ArticleDOI
Uncovering the Effects of Metal Contacts on Monolayer MoS2
Kirstin Schauble,Dante Zakhidov,Eilam Yalon,Sanchit Deshmukh,Ryan W. Grady,Kayla A. Cooley,Connor J. McClellan,Sam Vaziri,Donata Passarello,Suzanne E. Mohney,Michael F. Toney,Aditya Sood,Alberto Salleo,Eric Pop +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, a comprehensive study of contact interfaces between seven metals (Y, S, S) is presented, where contact interfaces are a key limiter to the electronic performance of 2D semiconductor devices.
Journal ArticleDOI
Facet‐Independent Electric‐Field‐Induced Volume Metallization of Tungsten Trioxide Films
S. G. Altendorf,S. G. Altendorf,Jaewoo Jeong,Donata Passarello,Donata Passarello,Donata Passarello,Nagaphani Aetukuri,Mahesh G. Samant,Stuart S. P. Parkin,Stuart S. P. Parkin +9 more
TL;DR: A change in conductivity of seven orders of magnitude at room temperature is found in epitaxial films of WO3 with an associated monoclinic-to-cubic structural reorganization.
