Quantifying defects in graphene via Raman spectroscopy at different excitation energies
Luiz Gustavo Cançado,Ado Jorio,E. H. Martins Ferreira,Fernando Stavale,Carlos A. Achete,Rodrigo B. Capaz,Marcus V. O. Moutinho,Antonio Lombardo,Tero S. Kulmala,Andrea C. Ferrari +9 more
TL;DR: It is found that the ratio between the D and G peak intensities, for a given defect density, strongly depends on the laser excitation energy, and a simple equation for the determination of the point defect density in graphene via Raman spectroscopy is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Quantifying defects in graphene via Raman spectroscopy at different excitation energies.
Luiz Gustavo Cançado,Ado Jorio,E. H. Martins Ferreira,Fernando Stavale,Carlos A. Achete,Rodrigo B. Capaz,Marcus V. O. Moutinho,Antonio Lombardo,Tero S. Kulmala,Andrea C. Ferrari +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a Raman study of Ar+-bombarded graphene samples with increasing ion doses was conducted and it was shown that the ratio between the D and G peak intensities strongly depends on the laser excitation energy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Quantifying ion-induced defects and Raman relaxation length in graphene
M. M. Lucchese,Fernando Stavale,E. H. Martins Ferreira,Cecília Vilani,Marcus V. O. Moutinho,Rodrigo B. Capaz,Carlos A. Achete,Ado Jorio +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the evolution of the intensity ratio between the G band (1585 cm−1) and the disorder-induced D band (1345 cm −1) with ion dose is determined, providing a spectroscopy-based method to quantify the density of defects in graphene.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evolution of the Raman spectra from single-, few-, and many-layer graphene with increasing disorder
E. H. Martins Ferreira,Marcus V. O. Moutinho,Fernando Stavale,M. M. Lucchese,Rodrigo B. Capaz,Carlos A. Achete,Ado Jorio +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors report on the micro-Raman spectroscopy of monolayer, bilayer, trilayer and many layers of graphene (graphite) bombarded by low-energy argon ions with different doses.
Journal ArticleDOI
The use of Raman spectroscopy to characterize the carbon materials found in Amazonian anthrosoils
J. Ribeiro-Soares,Luiz Gustavo Cançado,Newton Paulo de Souza Falcão,E. H. Martins Ferreira,Carlos A. Achete,Ado Jorio +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, Raman spectroscopy can be used to characterize the stable carbon content in a special type of soil, named Terra Preta de Indio (Indian Dark Earths).
