Journal ArticleDOI
Frost-resistant coated optical fibres
TL;DR: The application of non-crystallised silicone has provided a low level of the excess losses at low temperatures as mentioned in this paper, however, it was found that silicone crystallization caused a significant loss increase in coated MCVD fibres, irrespective of the secondary jacket material.
Journal ArticleDOI
Erbium-Doped Fibers Based on Cesium–Silicate Glasses
TL;DR: Using modified chemical vapor deposition and solution doping techniques, erbium-doped fibers (EDFs) were prepared based on cesium-silicate glasses in this article, and the possibility of manufacturing high-concentration (1 − 13 wt%) EDFs was shown.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Fast optical discharge propagation through optical fibres under kW-range laser radiation
I. A. Bufetov,Alexander A. Frolov,V. P. Efremov,M.Ya. Schelev,V. I. Lozovoi,Vladimir E. Fortov,E. M. Dianov +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the fast mode of optical discharge propagation in optical fibres has been discovered and it is accompanied by fiber cracks and velocity reaches 3 km/s under the intensity ≈40 W/m2.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
All-silica photonic bandgap fiber oscillators and amplifiers
Sébastien Février,D. A. Gaponov,Philippe Roy,Mikhail E. Likhachev,E. M. Dianov,M.Y. Salganskii,Mikhail V. Yashkov,A N Gur'yanov,Louis Daniault,Marc Hanna,Frédéric Druon,Patrick Georges +11 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors report on oscillators and amplifiers based on all-silica singlemode, large mode area photonic bandgap fibers elaborated by the modified chemical vapour deposition process.
