TL;DR: It is shown that issues relating to the duration of drug use, immortal time, depletion of susceptibles and overadjustment were problematic sources of bias in these studies and remedies to avoid these pitfalls are discussed.

Safety and effectiveness of acellular pertussis vaccination during pregnancy: a systematic review.

TL;DR: Although an increased risk for a diagnosis of fever and chorioamnionitis was detected in pregnant women after pertussis vaccination, there was no association with a higher frequency of clinically relevant sequelae and overall positive benefit-risk ratio.
