Journal ArticleDOI
Perspective on the Development of Lead-free Piezoceramics
TL;DR: In this paper, general guidelines for the development of lead-free piezoelectric ceramics are presented, ranging from atom to phase diagram, and the current development stage in lead free piezoceramics is then critically assessed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Determination of depolarization temperature of (Bi1/2Na1/2)TiO3-based lead-free piezoceramics
TL;DR: In this article, the authors apply the definition of depolarization temperature as the temperature of the steepest decrease of remanent polarization and evaluate currently used methods, both in terms of this definition and practical applicability.
Journal ArticleDOI
A High-Temperature-Capacitor Dielectric Based on K0.5Na0.5NbO3-Modified Bi1/2Na1/2TiO3–Bi1/2K1/2TiO3
Robert Dittmer,Eva-Maria Anton,Wook Jo,Hugh Simons,John E. Daniels,Mark Hoffman,Jan Pokorny,Jan Pokorny,Ian M. Reaney,Jürgen Rödel +9 more
TL;DR: A high-temperature dielectric, (1−x) 0.6Bi1/2Na 1/2TiO3, off the morphotropic phase boundary of the parent matrix 0.5NbO3 has been developed for application as a high temperature capacitor.
Journal ArticleDOI
Local structure, pseudosymmetry, and phase transitions in Na 1/2 Bi 1/2 TiO 3 –K 1/2 Bi 1/2 TiO 3 ceramics
Igor Levin,Ian M. Reaney,Eva-Maria Anton,Wook Jo,Jürgen Rödel,Jan Pokorny,Ljubomira Ana Schmitt,Hans-Joachim Kleebe,Manuel Hinterstein,Jacob L. Jones +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the structural behavior of NBT-KBT solid solutions was studied using high-resolution powder diffraction and transmission electron microscopy, and it was shown that polar ordering is coupled to antiphase octahedral rotations so that tilting and ferroelectric domains coincide.
Journal ArticleDOI
CuO as a sintering additive for (Bi1/2Na1/2)TiO3–BaTiO3–(K0.5Na0.5)NbO3 lead-free piezoceramics
Wook Jo,Jean-Baptiste Ollagnier,Jonglo Park,Eva-Maria Anton,O-Jong Kwon,Chan Park,Hyun-Ho Seo,Jong-Sook Lee,Emre Erdem,Rüdiger-A. Eichel,Jürgen Rödel +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, a low-temperature sintering of 0.92(Bi1/2Na 1/2)TiO3-NbO3 lead-free piezoceramic was used for actuator applications due to its large strain.
