Journal ArticleDOI
Very high prevalence of extended-spectrum beta-lactamase-producing Enterobacteriaceae in bacteriemic patients hospitalized in teaching hospitals in Bamako, Mali.
Samba Adama Sangare,Emilie Rondinaud,Naouale Maataoui,Almoustapha Issiaka Maiga,Ibrehima Guindo,Aminata Maiga,Namory Camara,Oumar Agaly Dicko,Sounkalo Dao,Souleymane Diallo,F Bougoudogo,Antoine Andremont,Ibrahim Maiga,Laurence Armand-Lefevre +13 more
TL;DR: The analysis of ESBL-E relatedness suggested a high rate of cross transmission between patients, which probably impose a high medical and economic burden to Malian hospitals.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prevalence of extended-spectrum beta-lactamase-producing Enterobacteriaceae isolated from blood cultures in Africa
Samba Adama Sangare,Samba Adama Sangare,Almoustapha Issiaka Maiga,Ibrehima Guindo,Aminata Maiga,Namory Camara,S. Savadogo,Souleymane Diallo,F Bougoudogo,Laurence Armand-Lefevre,Antoine Andremont,Ibrahim Maiga +11 more
TL;DR: The results of the literature review indicate that class A ESBLs prevail over the other types, while evidence of ESBL-producing Enterobacteriaceae can be found in all regions of the world.
Journal ArticleDOI
Antiretroviral treatment outcome in HIV-1-infected patients routinely followed up in capital cities and remote areas of Senegal, Mali and Guinea-Conakry.
Abou Abdallah Malick Diouara,Halimatou Diop Ndiaye,Ibrehima Guindo,Nestor Bangoura,Mohamed Cissé,Tchiakpe Edmond,F Bougoudogo,Mboup S,Martine Peeters,Ahidjo Ayouba,Ndeye Coumba Toure Kane +10 more
TL;DR: The virological outcome and HIV‐1 drug resistance in three West African countries using dried blood spots (DBS) samples is reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
Competitive fitness of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in vitro
Ousmane Kodio,Antieme Combo Georges Togo,Yeya dit Sadio Sarro,Bintou Fane,Fatimata Diallo,Amadou Somboro,Boureima Degoga,Mahamadou Kone,Gagni Coulibaly,Mohamed Tolofoudje,Sidy Bane,Moumine Sanogo,Bourahima Kone,Nadie Coulibaly,Djeneba Dabitao,Bocar Baya,Mamoudou Maiga,F Bougoudogo,Fasse Samake,Sounkalo Dao,Seydou Doumbia,Souleymane Diallo,Bassirou Diarra +22 more
TL;DR: MDR strains were less competitive than WT strains in 83.3% of cases and generation number of WT strains was less than those of MDR strains in both individual and competitive culture.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prevalence of ESBL-producing Enterobacteriaceae isolated from blood cultures in Mali
Samba Adama Sangare,Almoustapha Issiaka Maiga,Ibrehima Guindo,Aminata Maiga,Namory Camara,Oumar Agaly Dicko,Souleymane Diallo,F Bougoudogo,Laurence Armand-Lefevre,A. Andremont,Ibrahim Maiga +10 more
TL;DR: Almost two-thirds (61.8%) of Enterobacteriaceae isolated from blood cultures were ESBL producers, and only susceptibilities to carbapenems and to amikacin were fully conserved within the strains.
