Inorganic monoliths hierarchically textured via concentrated direct emulsion and micellar templates
Florent Carn,Annie Colin,Marie-France Achard,Hervé Deleuze,Elisabeth Sellier,Marc Birot,Rénal Backov +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, Hierarchical inorganic inorganic porous monoliths have been prepared using concentrated emulsion and micellar templates, which have an average mesoporosity of 800 m2 g−1 associated with bulk density as low as 0.08 g cm−3, comparable to values obtained for silica aerogel.
Journal ArticleDOI
Foam drainage in the presence of nanoparticle-surfactant mixtures.
TL;DR: The method based on the liquid fraction determination through the measurement of the front propagation velocity seems to be the most suitable for studying the drainage of colloidal dispersion because of the lower dependence of this approach toward hypothesis on the local geometry of the foam continuous phase.
Journal ArticleDOI
Unexpected intracellular biodegradation and recrystallization of gold nanoparticles
Alice Balfourier,Nathalie Luciani,Guillaume Wang,Gérald Lelong,Ovidiu Ersen,Abdelali Khelfa,Damien Alloyeau,Florence Gazeau,Florent Carn +8 more
TL;DR: It is shown that 4- to 22-nm gold nanoparticles are actually degraded in vitro by cells, with a faster degradation of the smallest size, and the active role of cell lysosome into this biodissolution is revealed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Rational Design of Macrocellular Silica Scaffolds Obtained by a Tunable Sol–Gel Foaming Process
Journal ArticleDOI
Toward an Understanding of the Microstructure and Interfacial Properties of PIMs/ZIF-8 Mixed Matrix Membranes.
Marvin Benzaqui,Rocio Semino,Nicolas Menguy,Florent Carn,Tanay Kundu,Jean-Michel Guigner,Neil B. McKeown,Kadhum J. Msayib,Mariolino Carta,Richard Malpass-Evans,Clement Le Guillouzer,Guillaume Clet,Naseem A. Ramsahye,Christian Serre,Guillaume Maurin,Nathalie Steunou +15 more
TL;DR: The microstructure of MMMs results from a complex interplay between the Zif-8/PIM compatibility, solvent, surface chemistry of the ZIF-8 NPs, and the physicochemical properties of the polymers such as molecular structure and rigidity.
