TL;DR: The results showed the loss of circadian rhythm of cortisol levels in ALS, and levels of cortisol in the evening sample were significantly increased in ALS patients with respect to controls, indicating the dysregulation of adrenal activity in the disease.

TL;DR: RT-PCR results provide further evidence for the interaction of dopamine systems and the immune system, and suggest the suitability of this animal species to further investigate the correlation between changes in the expression of central and peripheral dopamine receptors produced by manipulations of the dopamine systems.
