Evolutionary conservation of early mesoderm specification by mechanotransduction in Bilateria
Thibaut Brunet,Adrien Bouclet,Padra Ahmadi,Démosthène Mitrossilis,Benjamin Driquez,Anne-Christine Brunet,Laurent Henry,Fanny Serman,Gaëlle Béalle,Christine Ménager,Frédéric Dumas-Bouchiat,Frédéric Dumas-Bouchiat,D. Givord,D. Givord,Constantin Yanicostas,Damien Le-Roy,Damien Le-Roy,Nora M. Dempsey,Nora M. Dempsey,Anne Plessis,Emmanuel Farge +20 more
TL;DR: It is shown that a common mechanosensitive pathway involving β-catenin specifies early mesodermal identity at gastrulation in zebrafish and Drosophila, suggesting mesoderm mechanical induction dating back to at least the last bilaterian common ancestor more than 570 million years ago.
Journal ArticleDOI
rf-microwave switches based on reversible semiconductor-metal transition of VO2 thin films synthesized by pulsed-laser deposition
TL;DR: In this article, a microwave switching device based on the semiconductor-metal transition of VO2 thin films was developed on two types of substrates (C-plane sapphire and SiO2∕Si), and in both shunt and series configurations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Thermomagnetically patterned micromagnets
Frédéric Dumas-Bouchiat,Luiz-Fernando Zanini,Mikhail Kustov,Nora M. Dempsey,Rostislav Grechishkin,Klaus Hasselbach,Jean-Christophe Orlianges,Corinne Champeaux,Alain Catherinot,D. Givord +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a linear Halbach array was fabricated to demonstrate the potential of TMP for the realization of complex multidirectional microflux sources, and a simple model provided semiquantitative agreement with the experimental results.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sub-Microsecond RF MEMS Switched Capacitors
B. Lacroix,Arnaud Pothier,Aurelian Crunteanu,C. Cibert,Frédéric Dumas-Bouchiat,Corinne Champeaux,Alain Catherinot,Pierre Blondy +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the bending sides on a planar microbeam have been used to increase the resonance frequency of aluminum bridges by a factor of 25 compared to standard RF MEMS components, which can be implemented easily in post-processing of complementary metaloxide-semiconductor circuits.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mechanotransductive cascade of Myo-II-dependent mesoderm and endoderm invaginations in embryo gastrulation.
Démosthène Mitrossilis,Jens-Christian Röper,Damien Le Roy,Damien Le Roy,Benjamin Driquez,Aude Michel,Christine Ménager,Gorky Shaw,Simon Le Denmat,Simon Le Denmat,Laurent Ranno,Laurent Ranno,Frédéric Dumas-Bouchiat,Frédéric Dumas-Bouchiat,Nora M. Dempsey,Nora M. Dempsey,Emmanuel Farge +16 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that endogenous mechanical cues also trigger biochemical pathways, generating the active morphogenetic movements shaping animal development through a mechanotransductive cascade of Myo-II medio-apical stabilization.
