Journal ArticleDOI
Anticoagulant reversal, blood pressure levels, and anticoagulant resumption in patients with anticoagulation-related intracerebral hemorrhage.
Joji B. Kuramatsu,Stefan T. Gerner,Peter D. Schellinger,Jörg Glahn,Matthias Endres,Jan Sobesky,Julia Flechsenhar,Hermann Neugebauer,Hermann Neugebauer,Eric Jüttler,Eric Jüttler,Armin J. Kloska,Arnd Dörfler,Martin Köhrmann,Stefan Schwab,Hagen B. Huttner +50 more
TL;DR: Among patients with OAC-associated ICH, reversal of anticoagulation reversal and blood pressure (BP) with hematoma enlargement and resumption of OAC therapy was associated with lower risk of ischemic events, and these findings require replication and assessment in prospective studies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Etiology of first-ever ischaemic stroke in European young adults: the 15 cities young stroke study
N. Yesilot Barlas,Jukka Putaala,Ulrike Waje-Andreassen,Sophia Vassilopoulou,Katiuscia Nardi,Céline Odier,Gergely Hofgárt,Stefan T. Engelter,A. TL;DR: These features were compared based on individual patient data from 15 European stroke centers and found that gender‐specific differences by stroke etiology are scare.
Journal ArticleDOI
Common infections and the risk of stroke
TL;DR: Increasing evidence indicates that the aggregate burden of chronic and/or past infections rather than any one single infectious disease is associated with the risk of stroke.
Journal ArticleDOI
Demographic and Geographic Vascular Risk Factor Differences in European Young Adults With Ischemic Stroke The 15 Cities Young Stroke Study
Jukka Putaala,Nilufer Yesilot,Ulrike Waje-Andreassen,Janne Pitkäniemi,Sofia Vassilopoulou,Katiuscia Nardi,Céline Odier,Gergely Hofgárt,Stefan T. Bahar,Turgut Tatlisumak +44 more
TL;DR: Primary preventive strategies for ischemic stroke in young adults—having high rate of modifiable risk factors—should be targeted according to sex and age at continental level.
Journal ArticleDOI
Diagnostic accuracy of plasma glial fibrillary acidic protein for differentiating intracerebral hemorrhage and cerebral ischemia in patients with symptoms of acute stroke.
Christian Foerch,Marion Niessner,Tobias Back,Michael Bauerle,Gian Marco De Marchis,Andreas Ferbert,Holger Grehl,Gerhard F. Hamann,Andreas Jacobs,Andreas Kastrup,Sven Klimpe,Frederick Palm,Götz Thomalla,Hans Worthmann,Matthias Sitzer +14 more
TL;DR: Studies are needed to evaluate a GFAP point-of-care system that may help optimize the prehospital triage and management of patients with symptoms of acute stroke.
