Anticoagulant reversal, blood pressure levels, and anticoagulant resumption in patients with anticoagulation-related intracerebral hemorrhage.
Joji B. Kuramatsu,Stefan T. Gerner,Peter D. Schellinger,Jörg Glahn,Matthias Endres,Jan Sobesky,Julia Flechsenhar,Hermann Neugebauer,Hermann Neugebauer,Eric Jüttler,Eric Jüttler,Armin J. Grau,Frederick Palm,Joachim Röther,Peter Michels,Gerhard F. Hamann,Joachim Hüwel,Georg Hagemann,Beatrice Barber,Christoph Terborg,Frank Trostdorf,Hansjörg Bäzner,Aletta Roth,Johannes C. Wöhrle,Moritz Keller,Michael P. Schwarz,Gernot Reimann,Jens Volkmann,Wolfgang Müllges,Peter Kraft,Joseph Classen,Carsten Hobohm,Markus Horn,Angelika Milewski,Heinz Reichmann,Hauke Schneider,Eik Schimmel,Gereon R. Fink,Christian Dohmen,Henning Stetefeld,Otto W. Witte,Albrecht Günther,Tobias Neumann-Haefelin,Andras E. Racs,Martin Nueckel,Frank Erbguth,Stephan P. Kloska,Arnd Dörfler,Martin Köhrmann,Stefan Schwab,Hagen B. Huttner +50 more
TL;DR: Among patients with OAC-associated ICH, reversal of anticoagulation reversal and blood pressure (BP) with hematoma enlargement and resumption of OAC therapy was associated with lower risk of ischemic events, and these findings require replication and assessment in prospective studies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Telemedicine for safe and extended use of thrombolysis in stroke: the Telemedic Pilot Project for Integrative Stroke Care (TEMPiS) in Bavaria.
Heinrich J. Audebert,C. Kukla,Stephan Clarmann von Claranau,Johannes Kühn,Bijan Vatankhah,Johannes Schenkel,Guntram W. Ickenstein,Roman L. Haberl,Markus Horn +8 more
TL;DR: The present data suggest that systemic thrombolysis indicated via stroke experts in the setting of teleconsultation exhibits similar complication rates to those reported in the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke trial, therefore, tPA treatment is also safe in this context and can be extended to nonurban areas.
Journal ArticleDOI
Delayed neuronal death and delayed neuronal recovery in the human brain following global ischemia
Markus Horn,Wolfgang Schlote +1 more
TL;DR: The immunohistochemical results indicate delayed neuronal recovery in CA1, which in the time course reciprocally corresponds to delayed manifestation of hippocampal neuronal death, in contrasts to the immediate manifestation of ischemic neuronal necrosis in the neocortex.
Journal ArticleDOI
Long-term outcome after thrombolysis in telemedical stroke care
S. Schwab,Bijan Vatankhah,C. Kukla,M. Hauchwitz,Ulrich Bogdahn,Andrea Fürst,Heinrich J. Audebert,Markus Horn +7 more
TL;DR: Mortality rates and functional outcomes for telemedicine-linked community hospitals and stroke centers were similar and comparable to the results from randomized trials.
Journal ArticleDOI
Improved Detection of Silent Atrial Fibrillation Using 72-Hour Holter ECG in Patients With Ischemic Stroke A Prospective Multicenter Cohort Study
Martin Grond,M. Jauss,Gerhard F. Hamann,Erwin Stark,Roland Veltkamp,Darius G. Nabavi,Markus Horn,Christian Weimar,Martin Köhrmann,Rolf Wachter,Ludger Rosin,Paulus Kirchhof +11 more
TL;DR: In unselected survivors of a stroke or transient ischemic attack or TIA, 72-hour ECG monitoring is feasible and improves the detection rate of silent paroxysmal AF.
