Comparison of naturally acquired parasite burdens among Florida Native, Rambouillet and crossbreed ewes
Alessandro Francisco Talamini do Amarante,Alessandro Francisco Talamini do Amarante,Thomas M. Craig,W.S. Ramsey,Najib M. El-Sayed,Najib M. El-Sayed,A.Y Desouki,A.Y Desouki,Fuller W. Bazer +8 more
TL;DR: This study showed that crossbreeding Rambouillet and Florida Native sheep resulted in the production of F1 ewes resistant against gastrointestinal nematode infections.
Journal ArticleDOI
Endocrine Delivery of Interferon Tau Protects the Corpus Luteum from Prostaglandin F2 Alpha-Induced Luteolysis in Ewes
Alfredo Q. Antoniazzi,Alfredo Q. Antoniazzi,Brett T. Webb,Jared J. Romero,Ryan L. Ashley,Natalia P. Smirnova,Luiz E. Henkes,Rebecca C. Bott,João Francisco Coelho de Oliveira,Gordon D. Niswender,Fuller W. Bazer,Thomas R. Hansen +11 more
TL;DR: Endocrine delivery of roIFNT, regardless of route (uterine or jugular vein), effectively protects CL from the luteolytic actions of PGF by mechanisms that involve ISGs and stabilization of cell survival genes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Heterotopic uterus transplantation in a swine model.
Donna L. Avison,Werviston DeFaria,Panagiotis Tryphonopoulos,Akin Tekin,George R. Attia,Hidenori Takahashi,Yide Jin,Emmanouil Palaios,Nikolaos Pararas,Manuel Carreno,Sergio F. Santiago,Fuller W. Bazer,Fuller W. Bazer,Phillip Ruiz,Andreas G. Tzakis +14 more
TL;DR: Findings demonstrate that successful uterus transplantation in a large animal model (miniature swine) is feasible using this heterotopic model, and it can be useful for the study of these transplants.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pregnancy and Interferon Tau Regulate Major Histocompatibility Complex Class I and β2-Microglobulin Expression in the Ovine Uterus
TL;DR: The silencing of MHC class I α chain and β2MG genes in the endometrial LE and sGE during pregnancy recognition and establishment may be a critical mechanism preventing immune rejection of the conceptus allograft.
Journal ArticleDOI
Changes in oestrogen receptor protein, mRNA expression and localization in the endometrium of cyclic and pregnant gilts.
TL;DR: Changes in endometrial ER protein, mRNA and localization in surface epithelium are consistent with a physiological role for conceptus oestrogen secretion in uterine function and maternal recognition of pregnancy in the pig.
