Journal ArticleDOI

Coloration Mechanism in Proton-Intercalated Electrochromic Hydrated NiOy and Ni1-xVxOy Thin Films

TL;DR: In this article, the electrochromic films of nickel oxide, with and without vanadium, were prepared by reactive dc magnetron sputtering and characterized by electrochemical and optical measurements.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cation distribution in copper ferrite nanoparticles of ferrofluids: A synchrotron XRD and EXAFS investigation

TL;DR: In this article, the structural characterization of a copper ferrite nanoparticle sample, prepared by coprecipitation method, on both short (EXAFS) and long range (XRD) scales is reported.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ion-Irradiation-Induced Preferential Amorphization of Ge Nanocrystals in Silica

TL;DR: In this article, the atomic-scale structure of Ge nanocrystals in a silica matrix is first shown to deviate from that of bulk crystalline material with an increase in both Gaussian and non-Gaussian forms of structural disorder.
Journal ArticleDOI

Impact-parameter dependent energy loss of screened ions

TL;DR: In this paper, a simple model for the electronic energy loss as a function of the impact parameter for screened projectiles at high velocities is described, where the physical inputs are the projectile screening potential, the electronic density and the oscillators strengths for the target electrons.
