Journal ArticleDOI

A case study of collectivity, transfer and fusion enhancement

TL;DR: In this paper, precise fusion and quasi-elastic scattering excitation functions have been measured for the systems 40 Ca + 90,96 Zr at energies spanning the Coulomb barrier.
Journal ArticleDOI

Influence of complex surface vibrations on the fusion of 58Ni+60Ni.

TL;DR: The data yield an experimental distribution of fusion barriers'' around 13 MeV wide, which displays structure characteristic of strong phonon couplings with two large well resolved'' peaks, and a smaller peak at lower energies, which is essential for fitting the low-energy cross section.
Journal ArticleDOI

The heavy-ion magnetic spectrometer PRISMA

TL;DR: The PRISMA project as discussed by the authors is a magnetic spectrometer for heavy ions under construction at Legnaro, with very large solid angle (80 msr), wide momentum acceptance (± 10%) and good mass resolution via TOF measurement; it will be dedicated to the study of nuclear dynamics and nuclear structure with stable and exotic ion beams.
