Journal ArticleDOI

Preventing Allograft Rejection by Targeting Immune Metabolism

TL;DR: An anti-rejection regimen involving the glycolytic inhibitor 2-deoxyglucose (2-DG), the anti-type II diabetes drug metformin, and the inhibitor of glutamine metabolism 6-diazo-5-oxo-L-norleucine (DON) was able to prevent or delay graft rejection in fully mismatched skin and heart allograft transplantation models.
Journal ArticleDOI

A multiphase transitioning peptide hydrogel for suturing ultrasmall vessels

TL;DR: A multi-phase transitioning peptide hydrogel that can be injected into the lumen of vessels to facilitate suturing is reported, adding a new tool to the armamentarium for micro- and supermicrosurgical procedures.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mesenchymal Stem Cells Enhance Nerve Regeneration in a Rat Sciatic Nerve Repair and Hindlimb Transplant Model.

TL;DR: Local and systemic MSC injections significantly improve the pace and degree of nerve regeneration after nerve injury and hindlimb transplantation and resulted in improved nerve regeneration following allogeneic hind Limb transplants.
