Harmonized benchmark labels of the hippocampus on magnetic resonance: The EADC-ADNI project
Martina Bocchetta,Marina Boccardi,Rossana Ganzola,Liana G. Apostolova,Gregory M. Preboske,Dominik Wolf,Clarissa Ferrari,Patrizio Pasqualetti,Nicolas Robitaille,Simon Duchesne,Clifford R. Jack,Giovanni B. Frisoni,George Bartzokis,Charles DeCarli,Leyla deToledo-Morrell,Andreas Fellgiebel,Michael J. Firbank,Lotte Gerritsen,Wouter J.P. Henneman,Ronald J. Killiany,Nikolai Malykhin,Jens C. Pruessner,Hilkka Soininen,Lei Wang +23 more
TL;DR: The aim was to produce benchmark labels based on the HarP for manual segmentation based on magnetic resonance for Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative benchmark labels.
Journal Article
Brain myelination in prevalent neuropsychiatric developmental disorders: primary and comorbid addiction.
TL;DR: The model provides a rational biological framework for the development of novel, myelin-centered treatments that may have widespread efficacy across multiple disease states and could potentially be used in treating, delaying, or even preventing some of the most prevalent and devastating neuropsychiatric disorders.
Journal ArticleDOI
Younger age of dementia diagnosis in a Hispanic population in southern California.
L. Jaime Fitten,Freddy Ortiz,Lynn A. Fairbanks,George Bartzokis,Po Lu,Eric Klein,Giovanni Coppola,John M. Ringman +7 more
TL;DR: A cross‐sectional study to examine clinical and sociodemographic variables associated with age of dementia diagnosis in older Hispanics and White, non‐Hispanics in southern California.
Journal ArticleDOI
Acetylcholinesterase Inhibitors May Improve Myelin Integrity
TL;DR: Clinical, biochemical, and epidemiologic data can be reinterpreted to suggest that nonsynaptic effects of cholinergic treatments on the process of myelination and myelin repair contributes to their mechanism of action and especially to their disease modifying/preventive effects.
Journal ArticleDOI
Regional Differences in White Matter Breakdown Between Frontotemporal Dementia and Early-Onset Alzheimer's Disease
Po H. Lu,Grace J. Lee,Jill S. Shapira,Elvira E. Jimenez,Elvira E. Jimenez,Michelle Mather,Paul M. Thompson,George Bartzokis,Mario F. Mendez,Mario F. Mendez +9 more
TL;DR: The regional DTI alterations suggest that FTD and AD are each associated with a characteristic distribution of white matter degradation, particularly within the bvFTD group.
