TL;DR: Treatment according to clinical risk of recurrence, with early colonoscopy and treatment step-up for recurrence), is better than conventional drug therapy alone for prevention of postoperative Crohn's disease recurrence.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: In this analysis of data from a prospective clinical trial, FC measurement has sufficient sensitivity and NPV values to monitor for CD recurrence after intestinal resection and its predictive value might be used to identify patients most likely to relapse.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical characteristics of chronic idiopathic intestinal pseudo-obstruction in adults
TL;DR: In a referral setting visceral myopathy is the most common diagnosis in this heterogeneous syndrome, the course of the illness is usually prolonged, and prokinetic drug therapies are not usually helpful.
Journal ArticleDOI
Colorectal Polyp Counts and Cancer Risk in Familial Adenomatous Polyposis
TL;DR: More adenomas and older age are associated with a higher risk of colorectal cancer, however, cancer does occur in low-risk individuals and may be missed by surveillance, making alternatives to prophylactic surgery inadvisable.
Journal ArticleDOI
Efficacy of thiopurines and adalimumab in preventing Crohn's disease recurrence in high-risk patients – a POCER study analysis

Johnston,Rodney Woods,Peter R. Elliott,Sally Bell,Stephanie Brown,William Connell,Paul V. Desmond +27 more
TL;DR: Crohn's disease recurs in the majority of patients after intestinal resection, and the likelihood of recurrence after resection is low.
