Cytokine release syndrome
Alexander Shimabukuro-Vornhagen,Philipp Gödel,Marion Subklewe,Hans Joachim Stemmler,Hans A. Schlößer,Max Schlaak,M. Kochanek,B. Böll,Michael von Bergwelt-Baildon +8 more
TL;DR: This review provides a comprehensive overview of the mechanisms underlying CRS pathophysiology, risk factors, clinical presentation, differential diagnoses, and prognostic factors and gives practical guidance to the management of the cytokine release syndrome.
Journal ArticleDOI
Combined VEGF and PD-L1 Blockade Displays Synergistic Treatment Effects in an Autochthonous Mouse Model of Small Cell Lung Cancer.
Lydia Meder,Philipp Schuldt,Martin Thelen,Anna Schmitt,Felix Dietlein,Felix Dietlein,Sebastian Klein,Sven Borchmann,Kerstin Wennhold,Ignacija Vlasic,Sebastian Oberbeck,R. Riedel,Alexandra Florin,Kristina Golfmann,Hans A. Schlößer,Margarete Odenthal,Reinhard Buettner,Reinhard Buettner,Juergen Wolf,Juergen Wolf,Michael Hallek,Michael Hallek,Marco Herling,Michael von Bergwelt-Baildon,Michael von Bergwelt-Baildon,H. Christian Reinhardt,H. Christian Reinhardt,Roland T. Ullrich,Roland T. Ullrich +28 more
TL;DR: Combining VEGF and PD-L1 blockade could be of therapeutic benefit to patients with small cell lung cancer, and the data strongly suggest that a combination of anti-VEGF and anti-PD- L1 therapies can be an effective treatment strategy in patients with SCLC.
Journal ArticleDOI
Characterization of tumor-associated B-cell subsets in patients with colorectal cancer
Alexander Shimabukuro-Vornhagen,Hans A. Schlößer,Luise Gryschok,Joke Malcher,Kerstin Wennhold,Maria Garcia-Marquez,Till Herbold,Laura S. Neuhaus,Hans Jiro Becker,Anne Fiedler,Pascal Scherwitz,Thomas C. Koslowsky,Roland Hake,Dirk L. Stippel,Arnulf H. Hoelscher,Sebastian Eidt,Michael Hallek,Sebastian Theurich,Michael von Bergwelt-Baildon +18 more
TL;DR: The B-cell infiltrate of primary CRC is characterized by an accumulation of terminally differentiated memory B cells or plasma cells suggestive of a specific immune response against the tumor, however advanced tumors and metastases are also infiltrated by a considerable number of regulatory B cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Characterization of tumor-associated T-lymphocyte subsets and immune checkpoint molecules in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma
Axel Lechner,Hans A. Schlößer,Sacha I. Rothschild,Martin Thelen,Sabrina Reuter,Peter Zentis,Alexander Shimabukuro-Vornhagen,Sebastian Theurich,Kerstin Wennhold,Maria Garcia-Marquez,Lars Tharun,Alexander Quaas,Astrid Schauss,Jörg Isensee,Tim Hucho,Christian U. Huebbers,Michael von Bergwelt-Baildon,Dirk Beutner +17 more
TL;DR: The tumor microenvironment of HNSCC is characterized by a strong infiltration of regulatory T cells and high checkpoint molecule expression on T-cell subsets, which is of high translational relevance.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tumor-associated B cells and humoral immune response in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
Axel Lechner,Hans A. Schlößer,Martin Thelen,Kerstin Wennhold,Sacha I. Rothschild,Ramona Gilles,Alexander Quaas,Oliver G. Siefer,Christian U. Huebbers,Engin Cukuroglu,Jonathan Göke,Axel M. Hillmer,Birgit S. Gathof,Moritz F. Meyer,Jens Peter Klussmann,Alexander Shimabukuro-Vornhagen,Sebastian Theurich,Dirk Beutner,Dirk Beutner,Michael von Bergwelt-Baildon +19 more
TL;DR: Different immune infiltration patterns in relation to serological TAA response detection and the presence of B cell subpopulations in HNSCC that can engage in tumor promoting and antitumor activity are demonstrated.
