Antibody Affinity Shapes the Choice between Memory and Germinal Center B Cell Fates

TL;DR: It is found that contemporaneously developing memory and GC B cells differ in their affinity for antigen throughout the immune response, and the polyclonal memory B cell compartment is composed of B cells that were activated during the immune responded but whose antigen binding affinity failed to support further clonal expansion in the GC.
Journal ArticleDOI

Protein Amounts of the MYC Transcription Factor Determine Germinal Center B Cell Division Capacity

TL;DR: Gene expression analysis revealed that Tfh cells induce Myc expression in light-zone B cells in direct proportion to antigen capture, which constitutes the GC B cell division timer that when deregulated leads to emergence of B cell lymphoma.
