Displacement sensing with two asymmetrical inclined fibers

TL;DR: In this article, a fiber optic displacement sensor (PODS) with two asymmetrical inclined fibers is demonstrated using an intensity modulation technique, and it is shown that the increment of inclination angle increases the output sensitivity but reduces the linear range of the sensor.
Journal ArticleDOI

Multi-wavelength fiber laser based on nonlinear polarization rotation in semiconductor optical amplifier and photonic crystal fiber

TL;DR: In this paper, a nonlinear polarisation rotation (NPR) based multi-wavelength laser source was demonstrated using a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) and photonic crystal fiber (PCF).
Journal ArticleDOI

Bismuth erbium-doped fiber based multi-wavelength laser assisted by four-wave mixing process

TL;DR: It is demonstrated for the first time a multi-wavelength laser based on a bismuth-based erbium-doped fiber (Bi-EDF) assisted by a four-wave mixing (FWM) process.
Journal ArticleDOI

Investigation of dispersion characteristic in tapered fiber

TL;DR: In this article, a Fourier transform of the interference pattern was used to obtain the second and third order dispersions of β2 and β3 at 1544.1 nm for −600 ps2/km and −2 ps3/km, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI

FBG Water-Level Transducer Based on PVC-Cantilever and Rubber-Diaphragm Structure

TL;DR: In this paper, a FBG was bonded on a PVC polymer plastic cantilever beam and rubber diaphragm structure, and the measured water level was closed to actual water level at a tolerance of ± 2 cm.
