LabVIEW Applications for Optical Amplifier Automated Measurements, Fiber-Optic Remote Test and Fiber Sensor Systems

TL;DR: Improvement in fiber optic technology creates a necessity for a virtual instrumentation system, which is powerful programming software that can interface with over 7,000 instruments to provide data acquisition, industrial measurement, automated testing, and instrument control.
Journal ArticleDOI

Q-switched 2 μm thulium bismuth co-doped fiber laser with multi-walled carbon nanotubes saturable absorber

TL;DR: In this article, a passively Q-switched fiber laser operating at 1900 nm region using the newly developed thulium bismuth co-doped lithium-alumino-germano-silicate fiber (TBF) as a gain medium in conjunction with a multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) based saturable absorber (SA).
Journal ArticleDOI

Phase derivative thermo-spatiogram for distributed temperature sensing based on chirped grating-Michelson Interferometer

TL;DR: In this paper, a novel thermometric measurement based on chirped fiber Bragg grating and Michelson interferometer is proposed, which is based on the linear relation between the temperature and the phase derivative function of the grating, determined through Fourier transformation of the output spectrum.
Journal ArticleDOI

Characterization of lasing-oscillation direction in optical gain-clamped erbium-doped fiber amplifiers

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of ring-laser propagating direction in gain-clamped erbium-doped fiber amplifiers is investigated, and the optical amplifier architecture under study is based on ringlaser cavity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Supercontinuum generation using a passive mode-locked stretched-pulse bismuth-based erbium-doped fiber laser

TL;DR: In this paper, a supercontinuum (SC) generation in photonic crystal fiber (PCF) was demonstrated using an amplified picosecond stretched-pulses from a passive mode-locked Bismuth-based Erbium-doped fiber laser (Bi-EDFL).
