Meurer,George K. Miley,V. Motta,Marco Sirianni,William B. Sparks,Hien D. Tran,Zlatan Tsvetanov,R. L. White,W. Zheng +42 more
TL;DR: The morphology-density relation (MDR) and morphology-radius relation (MRR) for galaxies in seven z ~ 1 clusters that have been observed with the Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS) on board the Hubble Space Telescope were measured in this article.
Journal ArticleDOI
The peculiar type Ia SN 1991T : detonation of a white dwarf ?
Alexei V. Filippenko,Michael Richmond,Thomas Matheson,Joseph C. Shields,E. Margaret Burbidge,Ross D. Cohen,Mark Dickinson,Matthew A. Malkan,Brant O. Nelson,Jochen Pietz,David J. Schlegel,Patrick Schmeer,Hyron Spinrad,Charles C. Steidel,Hien D. Tran,William Wren +15 more
TL;DR: SN 1991T was a peculiar object whose premaximum optical spectrum did not resemble that of any known supernova; it appears to have been dominated by lines of iron-group elements.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Team Keck Treasury Redshift Survey of the GOODS-North Field
Gregory D. Wirth,Christopher N. A. Willmer,Paola Amico,Frederic H. Chaffee,Robert W. Goodrich,Shui Kwok,James E. Lyke,Jeff A. Mader,Hien D. Tran,Amy J. Barger,Amy J. Barger,Lennox L. Cowie,Peter Capak,Alison L. Coil,Michael C. Cooper,Al Conrad,Marc Davis,Sandra M. Faber,Esther M. Hu,David C. Koo,David Le Mignant,Jeffrey A. Newman,Antoinette Songaila +22 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the results of an extensive imaging and spectroscopic survey in the GOODS-North field completed using DEIMOS on the Keck II telescope are reported, including photometric and astrometric measurements for all targets detected in the R-band imaging survey of the GOODS-north region.
Journal ArticleDOI
Strong-lensing analysis of a1689 from deep advanced camera images
Tom Broadhurst,Narciso Benítez,Narciso Benítez,Dan Coe,Keren Sharon,K. Zekser,Richard L. White,Holland C. Ford,Rychard Bouwens,John P. Blakeslee,M. Miley,Piero Rosati,M. Sirianni,W. B. Sparks,Susanna Steindling,Hien D. Tran,Zlatan Tsvetanov,W. Zheng +42 more
TL;DR: In this article, a flexible light deflection field was constructed to predict the appearance and positions of counterimages of the largest known gravitational lens, A1689, and the model was refined as new counterimages were identified and incorporated to improve the model, yielding a total of 106 images of 30 multiply lensed background galaxies.
Journal ArticleDOI
WFPC2 Images of the Central Regions of Early-Type Galaxies.I. The Data
A. Rest,Frank C. van den Bosch,Frank C. van den Bosch,Walter Jaffe,Hien D. Tran,Zlatan Tsvetanov,Holland C. Ford,James Davies,Joanna Schafer +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented high-resolution R-band images of the central regions of 67 early-type galaxies obtained with the Wide Field and Planetary Camera 2 (WFPC2) aboard the Hubble Space Telescope (HST).
