Asymmetric Nozaki–Hiyama Propargylation of Aldehydes: Enhancement of Enantioselectivity by Cobalt Co‐Catalysis

TL;DR: A tethered bis(8-quinolinato) chromium complex 1 was developed, which was successfully used as a highly stereoselective catalyst for asymmetric pinacol coupling, asymmetric NH allylation and allenylation of aldehydes, as well as for the asymmetric synthesis of 1,3-butadien-2-ylcarbinols (Scheme 1).
Journal ArticleDOI

Vanadium‐Catalyzed Enantioselective Desymmetrization of meso Secondary Allylic Alcohols and Homoallylic Alcohols

TL;DR: A new bis-hydroxamic acid (BHA) ligand for the enantioselective vanadium catalyzed asymmetric epoxidation as well as kinetic resolution of allylic and homoallylic alcohols is reported, which provided high diastereoselectivities and good yields and cis-substituted meso-secondary allylic alcohol substrates could not provide satisfactory enantiosity.
Book ChapterDOI

Propargyl and Allenyl Organometallics

TL;DR: This paper showed that the utility of this methodology is limited by the tendency of propargylic metal derivatives to combine with carbonyl compounds and other electrophiles to produce both allenic and alkynic products.
Journal ArticleDOI

Water‐Tolerant and Reusable Catalysts for Direct Ester Condensation between Equimolar Amounts of Carboxylic Acids and Alcohols

TL;DR: ZrOCl2⋅8 H2O and HfOCl 2 ⋅ 8 H2O are highly effective, water-tolerant, and reusable homogeneous catalysts for direct ester condensation between equimolar amounts of carboxylic acids and alcohols as mentioned in this paper.
