Aerosol and boundary-layer interactions and impact on air quality
Zhanqing Li,Zhanqing Li,Jianping Guo,Aijun Ding,Hong Liao,Jianjun Liu,Yele Sun,Tijian Wang,Huiwen Xue,Hongsheng Zhang,Bin Zhu +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors review the major advances in aerosol measurements, PBL processes and their interactions with each other through complex feedback mechanisms, and highlight the priorities for future studies.
Journal ArticleDOI
A high‐resolution ammonia emission inventory in China
Xin Huang,Yu Song,Mengmeng Li,Jianfeng Li,Qing Huo,Xuhui Cai,Tong Zhu,Min Hu,Hongsheng Zhang +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a comprehensive NH3 emission inventory was compiled for China on a 1 km × 1 km grid, which is suitable for input to atmospheric models and attempted to estimate NH3 emissions accurately by taking into consideration as many native experiment results as possible and parameterizing the emission factors (EFs) by the ambient temperature, soil acidity and other factors.
Journal ArticleDOI
High-resolution ammonia emissions inventories in China from 1980 to 2012
Yaning Kang,Mingxu Liu,Yu Song,Xin Huang,Huan Yao,Xuhui Cai,Hongsheng Zhang,Ling Kang,Xuejun Liu,Xiaoyuan Yan,Hong He,Qiang Zhang,Min Shao,Tong Zhu +13 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a comprehensive NH3 emissions inventories were compiled for China for 1980-2012, and the two major contributors were livestock manure and synthetic fertilizer application, which contributed 80-90 % of the total emissions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ammonia emission control in China would mitigate haze pollution and nitrogen deposition, but worsen acid rain
Mingxu Liu,Xin Huang,Yu Song,Jie Tang,Junji Cao,Xiaoye Zhang,Qiang Zhang,Shuxiao Wang,Tingting Xu,Ling Kang,Xuhui Cai,Hongsheng Zhang,Fumo Yang,Huanbo Wang,Jian Zhen Yu,Alexis K.H. Lau,Ling-Yan He,Xiao-Feng Huang,Lei Duan,Aijun Ding,Likun Xue,Jian Gao,Bin Liu,Tong Zhu +23 more
TL;DR: It is found that NH3 emission abatement can mitigate PM2.5 pollution and nitrogen deposition but would worsen acid rain in China, and a region-specific strategy for multipollutant controls that will benefit human and ecosystem health is proposed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Study on the synoptic flow patterns and boundary layer process of the severe haze events over the North China Plain in January 2013
TL;DR: In this paper, the relation between synoptic flow patterns and low visibility events of haze and fog over the North China Plain (NCP), and the contribution of Synoptic Flow Patterns and boundary layer structure to the severe haze events over the NCP in January 2013, was elucidated.
